Land Registry says that there were circa 50k sales in August whereas we have been provided other data which shows the figure to be 78k:

Even allowing for the fact that LR are a bit laggy and that they don't include Scotland this seems like quite a big difference.
Why?
Cash sales & new builds perhaps as both are not in the LR data.0 -
