Debate House Prices

Discrepancy Between Sales Transaction Figures

Land Registry says that there were circa 50k sales in August whereas we have been provided other data which shows the figure to be 78k:

Even allowing for the fact that LR are a bit laggy and that they don't include Scotland this seems like quite a big difference.

Why?

(PS I still think we are just moving the majority of "distressed sellers" along each month and that there are very few people electing to move through simple preference).
