BT Broadband contract ends but still being charged to end

I am going to be moving abroad at the start of Nov and have recently contacted BT to ask that when my contract ends on 7-12-11 that they remove the broadband from my phone line as I will no longer require it. I have asked that the phone line is left on as it is at my parents house and they are going to pick up business messages for me and forward them. I was told that I had to pay a charge of £30 to end the supply of broadband even though after the 7-12-11 I am no longer in contract with BT to supply the broadband.
I am furious. This is surely not something which they can do. I can understand them charging if I was still in contract with them and trying to end it mid term but how can they justify charging customers when they are not in contract with them anymore. It is pure greed and daylight robbery.
When I asked for an address to make a complaint the customer service representative said that that they coukd only pass on my concerns internally, but when I went online there are several BT addresses and emails which are available.
I feel that this massive corporation has taken one step too far with this.
Does anyone know which official channels I can use to take this above BT and make a complaint?
Or even if this is legal for them to charge for this?
Please help?

At this moment in time, you're in contract for Broadband. You can't call now and ask them to cancel your broadband in December, you'd have to call them on the 7th December and cancel.0

That £30 is a standard disconnection charge.0

As Timalay says its the standard disconnection charge, most ISP's pass this on now.
It is in BT T&CWhen you end your broadband service and do not request and use a migration authorisation code (MAC) or another recognised transfer process to move to another service provider you will have to pay a cease charge of £30. You will not have to pay this charge in the event you are moving home and we are unable to provide the service at the new UK address.0 -
This catches many unawares, as the only thing that is deemed relevant when getting ADSL is the connection costs, not leaving. AS you will have seen from the earlier quote, BT clearly state that if BB is terminated and not migrated, this requires a charge to be made to remove the facility.
If your folks can be encouraged to retain BB for their own use (and why not?) they can benefit from a no-cost provision of service at a different provider, naturally AFTER your minimum term is up.0
