Virgin mobile - won't block nuisance numbers?

Sadly I'm very behind the times - it's a very old Sony Ericsson (it does what I need and the rest of the time I 'borrow' fiance's phone).
I'm obviously oblivious to the lack of interest phone operators pay to their customers needs - I assumed from reading the phone book when I was little (the beginning, and yes I was that sad!) that all phone operators would take as much interest as BT used to!
Thanks everyone for your responses!
With respect, in this case, the operators' haven't lacked interest in your needs - they have offered you a number change. This may not be what you want but at present, is the only thing on a network level, they can offer. There is no technology on any of the networks at present to facilitate 'blocking' a single incoming number. I'm sure if they could, they would offer it straight away.
If you don't want to change your number then the best thing you can do is report it to the police and give them the number in question. They will be able to (if needed) investigate/take action accordingly.0 -
Also, I believe all networks have a malicious calls bereau that you can report it to.0
