  • This one is the cheapest I have found. £19.99. It has different attachments so you can use it for clothes and around the home.

I worked in a dry cleaners for 2 years, the prices of getting curtains dry cleaned was unbelievable.

My tips would be look for a local independant dry cleaners as there prices ae a lot cheaper than most of the national chains

Look for speical offers - some do 2 4 1, they dont have to be teh same type

Suede, leather, wedding dresses were sent away when I worked at teh dry cleaners, and when your quoting £40+ for a suede jacket most people have a heart attack.

    Buying clothes -
Try and avoid buying a red item that says dry clean only, as red is the most difficult to clean, as (where I worked), we were unable to put any of the precleaners on red

If the item was very delicate, we use to have to send our customers to an independant shop as they had more facilities - needed gentle care

Curtains - when we priced them up it was per curtain and not the pair......
Also if the curtains had linings in they were specialist cleans - meant sending away

Suits if it says dry clean - send them in together else you may end up with the trs fading before the jacket

Men - always check ur pockets, the most damage done to anyone jacket is if a pen is left in the inside pocket - ruin the jacket

Always check your dry cleaning asap - as faults once left the store or a week later the dry cleaners will always say - ur fault, how did we know u didnt wear it.

as for dry cleaning quilts, pillows dont even go there - they have to be sent away and if you go to a normal laundrette they usually have a giant machine wash them in there

its almost as cheap to buy a value quilt and chuck it out at the end of the season, as ud be paying £5+ for the washing machine and its unlikely it would fit in a tumble dryer.

If you have tesco clubcard points convert to deals and use in Johnsons, but see if u bulk up and get the best deal, even better, share with a friend and get them to pay half x

Curtains dry clean £20 per pair.

I stumbled across this offer by accident. Johnsons have a special offer at the moment, curtains dry cleaned for £20 per pair. I was going to use Tesco vouchers but it seemed a waste as my curtains would have been over £100 of Tesco vouchers (£25 actual points vouchers), so for the extra £15 I thought I would save the Tesco vouchers for something more valuable.

Don't forget good old Febreze. I hang my dry clean dresses on a hanger on the clothes line outside and give them a good spray of Febreze, leave them out in fresh air for a bit and they come up smelling sweet and fresh.

Try and buy machine washable suits, if i buy smart trousers i always check the washing instructions as also with silk or fancy tops. I hav put dry clean only jackets and bottoms in the washin machine in a netted bag inside out on a gentle fast wash and hav had no probs

I have a dry cleaners local that do 4 items for £6 with a 3 day collection.

BargainRzl put me onto them a few years back. They are very proffesional and NEVER had a problem.

    I heard this suggestion once...
Don't take your clothes to the dry cleaners. Take them to the charity shop instead.
They will dry clean them and put them out for sale.
Buy them back from the charity shop. With any luck this will be cheaper than the dry cleaning bill would have been!
