The jacket and trousers are not wool, they are 65% polyester and 35% viscose. I am not sure if a gentle wash would ruin them or not, what do you think?
I think they should be fine on a cool gentle wash - trying the trousers first would be a good idea.
I had a wool-polyester work uniform suit that was DCO - washed fine on the wool programme.
Press using a cool iron through a pressing cloth or it will shine something awful.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
I took a couple of dresses to my local dry cleaners today.
The first was a silk embellished dress from high street shop Phase Eight. They pointed out the F logo in the dry clean only label and said they didn't clean anything with that mark and said lots of cleaners won't do it. They gave me a long explanation about the different types of cleaning solution. Is this true and if it is where might I get it cleaned?
The second item is a dress belonging to my daughter. When she was trying it on she got some deodorant marks on the rayon fabric - she hasn't even worn it yet apart from this "try on". The dress has long tassels - about a metre long - and the dry cleaner again said they couldn't do this because it would become tangled by the machine - even if it was in bag.
Any solutions apppreciated.0 -

My daugher has a dress that is polyester and has quite a shiny finish and a netting underskirt (possibly nylon?) The label says dry clean only but do you think it would be OK to do a delicate wash and hang up to dry? She got it for Christmas and has only worn it once so I would hate to ruin it for her, but I'm sure I remember handwashing viscose dresses that should only have been dry cleaned with no problems.0

I bought a new machine to clean my items at home. it is a kind of dry cleaner, but not just a dry cleaner, you can also remove odors like smoke, perfume and perspiration, Freshen & Deodorize Clothing... It says you can dry clean your items at home, and the most important is, it's cheap, lol...
Oh, forgot to say, the machine names "Freshcloz", you can see it on TV.0 -

Do you think I could wash a wool winter coat on cold and get away with it? It is woven fabric, lined with polyester,
It is 70% wool, 22% polyamide, 8% cashmere and the lining 60% viscose 40% polyester.
It was a good one originally, from Kaliko but I got it in a charity shop :-)0
