Those nice people at the governmental statistics department are releasing a "personal inflation calculator" for us to play with at https://www.statistics.gov.uk.
Apparently it's to counter concern as to the accuracy of the official inflation figures!
Says it will be available from 7am on Jan 15th - not there at 7:10:-)

I have no idea how much i spend on these things. I guessed and it said I was in line with everyone else.0

very interesting. I downloaded the special viewer with no problem
our household inflation is slightly less than the national average. I am surprised but maybe it is due to our os values. Anyway my dh will be very pleased when I tell him0 -
It's given me 3.4% after a few guesses at the figures - which is the same as the current RPI ex mortgage interest.Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0

Its given me 3.6% in November. So thats way above Gordons beloved CPI index measure. The RPI is 3.9% and thats more like it. What a fiddle for Gordon to use CPI for his targets instead of RPI.
Sigh.... one day the public will wake up to the problems this government is storing up for the future. Of course by then Gordon, Tony, Two jags and co will be a distant memory and I suppose it'll be the tories left to pick up the mess and probably shoulder the blame for all Labours failings. Not that I want Cameron to get in either - he's a idiot obessed with climate 'change' and can't think outside the box. He has not enough brain cells to be PM or leader of the opposition.0 -
I can't find the calculator? Perhaps its a firefox thing.0

What am I meant to be looking for on that page?

If you can't see the online SVG version:
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/PIC/index.html
You can download the SVG viewer:
http://www.adobe.com/svg
If that still doesn't work you can download a zipped version:
http://www.statistics.gov.uk/pic/
and if you can't unzip... seek help
