  • He did the right thing rather than carrying on something he wasn't happy with, I wish my mil2b was as lovely as some of you ladies.

She will be fine it just takes time :)

Thank you everyone for taking the time and trouble to post. You have all made me feel a little better and I really appreciate it.
  • Eton Rifle,

Let things take their course. You’ll find that the relationship with the other parents just gets thinner and thinner until it drops away and you all move on. It’s a process, just go with it.
  • When my daughter split up with her boyfriend of 6 months ( both only 17, he dumped her, but nicely) his mum had been really lovely to her, so I sent her a nice little note saying thankyou for all the teas, etc she had given my daughter, and to wish her son all the best for the future. Think she really appreciated it, as she phoned me up and told me what a plonker they thought her son was being! ( His youngest brother cried, and asked if he was gay!!)

Its for the best. Whats the point in being with someone you don't want to be with. Shes very young. Offer her a sympathetic ear, and a hug. She'll survive.

My brother split up with his girlfriend (whom I treated like a sister) of 3 years and I was upset, since it was his fault really.
However, her subsequent behaviour shows her up in such a way I am glad they are not together anymore, never dreamed she had such a nasty side to her!
