  • Sorry to hear this MP (((hugs)) I had my purse stolen last Summer by some cretin who then rang me at work trying to get me to give him my pin number, so I know how you feel.

I think you've done pretty much everything you need to. I'm not sure where you had it stolen from, but if it was from work, do report it, as I was told I could have claimed a small amount from their 'ex-gratia' fund - I didn't as I work for a charity.

    Best wishes,

I would have given the wrong pin so the card either got swallowed up by a cash machine or frozen if they tried to use chip and pin, although it could still be used on the internet unless stopped????
And yes the lady in the avatar is me

You should have given him a made up number, he might have lost it in a machine with any luck !

Just phoned my bank, no other way to get money out until I get my new card.

Will they let you collect a pre-arrange sum from a branch?

I suffered identity fraud and someone cleaned out my account while I was on holiday in London. The first I knew was when an ATM ate my card, and I rang Smile to find out what was going on.

Anyway as I was stuck with no money, Smile arranged for me to collect some cash from a London Co-op bank branch, which was enough to see me through till the end of the holiday.

It's worth asking in case your bank can do something similar.
Here I go again on my own....

Hi Becles. Sorry to read about the identity fraud. I'm with Cahoot and the man on the phone just said 'sorry, there is nothing we can do. You'll have to wait for the card to come through'. Luckily I can borrow some money from my family.

Not very good customer service :(

Same happened to me last April. Someone actually came in the house through the front door and took my bag off the sofa whilst I was upstairs. They didn't get much apart from my driving license which cost me £19 to replace my boots card, they spent my £8 worth of points and a purse with 60p in it, end of month lol and not forgetting approx 30 prescription painkillers, which would of made them as sick as a dog if they had tried to take them. It's not a nice feeling, i try not to dwell on it or think about it at all. Providing you've got a crime ref no. and informed all your banks etc and DVLC you should be OK but i would do a credit check in a couple of months to be on the safe side.

Hi changkra thanks for your message. I never thought of contacting about my Boots card. I'll also contact Nectar. Um, who else might I have forgotten? Damn, just realised I had a Morrisons on there with money on it and WH Smiths. I wonder what other loyalty cards I might have forgotten?
