No. not at all. Depending on your phone you may be able to get a free unlocking code or, if not try an unlocking shop in your local town (usually a tenner).

Some people find online code providers ok but I'm always wary of those.

  • They don't have to unblock your phone at all.
After all you took the contract out with 3,so it seems right that they would charge you to unblock it.
I always buy sim free phones
    Owing on CC £00.00 :j

This may be right, but what does this have to do with a contract after it finished?

IIRC some other networks don't think that it is right and unlock for free.
  • O2 don't charge you and I think they will send you a code after about a month.
  • Just wondered, as i thought the handset was yours after end of contract, and they have to unlock it for free.
