unlocking phone after contract

No. not at all. Depending on your phone you may be able to get a free unlocking code or, if not try an unlocking shop in your local town (usually a tenner).
Some people find online code providers ok but I'm always wary of those.

They don't have to unblock your phone at all.
After all you took the contract out with 3,so it seems right that they would charge you to unblock it.

IIRC some other networks don't think that it is right and unlock for free.0 -
O2 don't charge you and I think they will send you a code after about a month.0
