Slow internet on T-Mobile? Read this......
Thought I'd write a step by step guide of how to get proper internet speeds from T-Mobile.
1. Check that you are in a HSDPA coverage area, your phone will display 'H' '3.5G' or something similar if you are.
2. Check the speed of the connection using a speed test app or failing that using a speed test website. Try to do this in more than one area. If your speed is no more than 385kbps regardless of where you test it then your speed is being capped.
3. To confirm your speed is being capped, run a speed test with a sim card from Orange or Three. If the speed is higher, it rules out any problems with your phone. Try your SIM card in another HSDPA capable phone and run another speed test. If the speed is still low, this will confirm that the problem is with T-Mobile.
4. Call 150 and select the option to speak to technical support, normal customer services aren't much use for this.
5. Tell them your not happy with the speed and all of the steps you've been through above. Make sure you tell you have never seen a speed above whatever your highest speed was (less that 385kbps). They should then remove the cap and allow download speeds of up to 1.9Mbps.
These are the steps I went through to get the speed cap removed from my account, hope it works for everyone else!

Good advice, but the user will need an unlocked phone as an Orange sim will not work in a t-mobile phone and visa versa. All phones direct from t-mobile are locked.0
