OAP proof phone
I need a PAYG mobile phone that acts as near as possible to a landline phone.
Switch on, dial number to call.
Phone rings, push button to answer.
No camera, no text, no anything.
Easily read display of 4 stored numbers in bright sunlight.
This is for an OAP with poor eyesight and athritis for calling home when out alone so that they can be picked up.
Must be able to withstand being dropped onto concrete and down toilet.
Possibly only 4 calls per week.
Does such a phone exist?

Some of the cheaper phones mentioned in those threads are really not worth considering in these circumstances. The really cheap ones, especially, are not durable and others have posted experience of them breaking after fairly minimal use.
I would confidently recommend any of the Doro range, which are solidly built and robust.
If eye sight and difficulty with motor skills are issues, it may be worth considering something like the Doro Handle plus 334. Four preset numbers can be called at the push of one button. Like the whole Doro range, it is pricey, but in the circumstances, as it needs to be reliable and durable, I think is worth paying for.
