Edinburgh you have completely missed the gist of my posts. This thread is about who is or is not recruiting for christmas jobs.I have tried and would suggest any chain stores small or large.I didnt feel I or anyone else needs to point out the usual suspects as surely all ppl of employable age have shopped on high streets at some point in their lives.
It is not as you state too late for Argos. I applied there weeks ago and have been told in person by senior staff there at our local branch that applications have not even been looked at yet. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
hi op
i just wanted tosuggest fundraising as an option... i know there are a few companies taking people on where i am ( east midlands). i am very firtunate to have a fulltime job, but with christmas so close and other costs rising i decided i needed a second income about 1 month ago. i have been working part time as a fund raiser on the phones and though it's repetitive work which can sometimes be disheartening, it does have a sense of accomplishment attached to good days- and the pay is well above minimum wage also. Perhaps have a look in your local paper to see if there is anything near you.?
good luckstarted comping 8/12/10......:D0 -
Just had a farcical experience at Argos. They called me to a recruitment meeting at 6pm due to last several hours. They kept us all hanging round for 30 mins then messed about for a quarter of an hour trying to get tvs to work. They told us we would have to watch several corporate videos, then listen to several presentations, then do a lot of role playing and team building exercises. After this we would possibly be called back for interview on another date. Job is only for 6 hours guaranteed contract. No wonder several people walked out. Thats equivalent to a Saturday type job and certainly not worth several hours of time without even being interviewed. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
