Find a store with a price check scanner and check your prices until you find a dtd, you couldn't look any more suspicious than the rest of us lol.

So i load the trolley with a few possibles walk to the scanner & then do I take them back & put them on shelf? Its a bit obvious in one store scanning :( I'll see I may need to work up to it.

Thinking of an extreme couponing type shop on wednesday if the postman ever brings my promised Tesco giftcards etc
  • overhead at CS while waiting for a DTD the meal deals not working

Must admit, I'd have been the same and got a "little";) bit cross. I have really learnt not to be intimidated by CS now. In fact it's probably not right but it's turned into a game now. Especially when the lady behind me at CS in a particular store said "If you're trying to get that DTD thing in here they won't give it to you" and my reply was "Just watch me!!" and I did get it,although it took 30 minutes and a few managers!! Just have'nt been back in there for a few months:)

I was trouted last week with some toys. Took the CS trout round to make sure the SEL didn't disappear (I'm not very trusting am I?) and she said when we were standing there would I be happy to pay the price on the shelf. When she worked out the refund on her calculator (strange, I thought their computers did all that for them!) I asked should it not be DTD. She had the cheek to turn around and say that she'd asked if I was happy with the SEL price and I said yes. I explained I was happy to pay the SEL price but that the refund should be DTD. She walked away, spoke to someone then came back and very politely did the DTD.

The only other time I was massively trouted I stood my ground and asked for a manager. No-one came but when the CS woman muttered under her breath "I'm not arguing with you any more, I'll just give you the DTD" that's when I got HO involved. I don't get why the CS staff refuse to abide by company policy. They're not the ones in the wrong, PI are. The money isn't coming out of their pockets so why worry. I doubt they are on commission for each DTD they manage to evade. Why bother? Oh yes, jobsworths!

had my first trout experience last night ....I decided to visit another store instead of my local ....I saw someone on here posting about the go cook knives at £25 a set but stickers on boxes which clearly state 3 for 2. anyway i bought 3 of them and the 3 for 2 didnt kick in !! off i trot to cs desk to be told I must have put the stickers on them so they dont qualify for DTD .. yes thats right i carry red stickers that state 3 for 2 in my pocket !! so i read her the dtd policy off the board she is standing infront of and she then says I would give you DTD if the SEL was yellow and not white as the offer has expired..... I phoned customer service this morning I have to go pick up my £50 when im next instore :j:D

Good for you! I had my first ever trout experience too in this week. All I was doing was returning an item bought in another branch. I wasn't going for DTD or anything, just a straight forward refund for an unwanted item.

Forty minutes she kept me waiting. I asked for the manager, she claimed to not even know his name - luckily there was a photo of him on the wall behind her so i sent him an email while i waited and called customer services from my mobile.

She was the worst customer service assistant I have ever met, I was nothing but polite to her and she was so rude.

I was successful in the end. She did not apologise, just refunded the money on to my card in without saying a word further. Don't think she liked being told by CS that she was wrong.

I might've understood her attitude if I was a persistent visitor, or had been going for DTD but I was neither!

Mst of the CSA's I've met at Tescos have been really friendly and helpful - but you always get one! lol

My MIL has worked in CS for 30 years in S's and and always say's that she just gives a refund when somethings wrong. Her thought is it's not my money so does it really matter, perhaps T's need to get her train to train some of their CS people;) Saying that the majority that I've come across are lovely it's just the odd one or two that are a total nightmare!
