how to getting tags markers of your line

i have had heaps of trouble with sky trying to get this done, phone bt on 08001699576 they can tell if it has been requested and if your provider says it was refused then it was stopped somewhere by them not bt ask them to do it manually that means them phoning bt and requesting they take the tags of, sky did it eventually for me, had i realised they could do this it would not have taken me so long

Well it depends on what is actually on your line. Theres a lot of confusion as to what a marker or tag is (ill explain later in the post what precisely a marker is) and what BT Wholesale can actually do.

If its a broadband service thats on your line then your service provider will be the only person/group/company who can remove that service. No one else.

Most of the time it is the existing service from your provider on the line & not something BT can remove themselves.

If it is a marker on there then BT Wholesale can do something to get it removed. Markers can be catagorised as:
    • incorrect routing records
    • your telephone number not updated onto the wholesale ordering system
    • a marker indicating that an ADSL service exists when it has been ceased
    • incorrect orderlines on the account
    • an open order to cease or provide an adsl connection that hasnt closed

Thats the more popular ones which come to light & that will stop an order going through.

Majority of the issues though is just existing broadband services that service providers havent ceased off when they should have done.

The ONLY time BT Wholesale can legally remove an ADSL connection off a line is when theres a clear termination in the PSTN phone line & the ADSL on the line belongs to the previous tennant thus stopping a new order being placed by the new tennant.

If theres any questions regarding tags/markers (not enquiries about individual telephone numbers) then ill be happy to help :)
