Last year EON asked me to take a reading on the 31st March and submit it with my quarterly reading on the 18th April. This is obviously to reflect the RPI change on payments. However, this year I haven't had the same request and as far as I can ascertain, there is a slight increase from April 1st 2013. Can anybody throw any light on this?

They're probably hoping that you'll forget the price change and leave them to guestimate what your reading that day might have been. Balance of probability is that their estimate for 31st March will be rather higher than your real readings.

Not sure how EON work but Scottish Power let me send in my readings by email and on the 1st April last year I sent in that morning's reason along with a comment explaining that I didn't care whether they made an extra payment immediately or just made a note of the correct figure so that they didn't have to try & guess their own at next payment date (mid May). In fact they did pay in early April and asked for next reading in May as normal.

I'd advise you to do something similar.

    How odd !

Message was here but deleted before I finished answering. But I'll leave 'reply' for benefit of anyone else it might affect.

As EDF is getting bad press as an energy supplier on other posts, I too would like to give them credit for turning round tariff payments impressively. For the last few quarters, remittance advice has been received within 3 working days of submitting meter reading. Can't ask more than that. Well done.

Not sure what happened to EDF's Green team towards the end of last year but they went from being totally useless over the now infamous declaration problem to being as good as you could expect. They email and ask for readings on the 1st of the month, and so far the latest I've had the money in my account has been the 6th (when the 1st fell on a Saturday) which allowing for the 3 day BACS cycle means they are turning them around within one day.

I spoke to my FIT-repayer about how they pro-rated March's generation? Unfortunately, they omitted to send me a BACS remittance note with the detail. The 'bottom-line' is that they were out by 75 units on a 2.15KW system resulting in an underpayment to me. My guess is that they based their estimate on March 2012's consumption. March 2012 was a good month for me: 187.3KWhrs compared to 116.7 KWhrs in March this year. I have written to Consumer Affairs at OFGEM suggesting that pro-rating generation is just not possible given the vagaries of the UK weather, regional differences etc and energy companies should be required to permit PV-generators (ie; us) to provide them with a 31 March meter reading. If energy companies were losing the odd £ from all their customers, I am pretty sure that there would soon be a quick fix.

I can't see my last quarter readings being paid anytime in a hurry.

I have a contract for my 2nd install(sept12) which is equal to my original installs rate(nov11), which is not the rate which i'm told it should be.

Once I have it fully resolved i'll post the full details. In the meantime I must sit and wait:mad:

    British Gas do my FIT.

Last two payments have been within a week but they do say "within 28 working days"
Still waiting for the payment for the 30th June reading.

Anyone else getting a delay this time around?

Gave EDF my meter reading 1st of June. It's now 23rd July and I've had no money. Usually they've been faster than this, though as I remember demand 90 days to pay.

Edit - they had paid me in 5 days, just hadn't sent me an email document that was somehow missed. So no complaints.
