but fourth was ignored because less than 90 days had elapsed. So it is NOT the month that matters, but the time interval. Is that right?
In all communications with me, Scottish Power have always said that readings must be no less than 80 days apart.
2kWp Solar PV - 10*200W Kioto, SMA Sunny Boy 2000HF, SSE facing, some shading in winter, 37° pitch, installed Jun-2011, inverter replaced Sep-2017 AND Feb-2022.
  • I thought they were meant to pay out 4 times per year?

British Gas asks me for readings that are less than 90 days apart - do they think I don't know how many months make 25 years ?

I doubt whether Scottish Power would pay out more than four times a year, I assumed the "80 day" rule was to try to ensure the readings were reasonably evenly spaced, i.e. in the 80-100 day ball park.

  • Perhaps the companies are worried that we will save up units until after the next price rise?!

    I was robbed of £0.50 in 2012.:eek::rotfl:

BG has just demanded a final reading for the year and given me a deadline of 10th February.
As the first day of 2012 for which I was paid was 21 February, am I heading for a massive argument in 24 years time if they trim 11 days off every year?

    Watch this space.

    I'm confused!

Does it actually matter when they ask for readings? Mine with BG is now a month earlier than it was last year. If anything more frequent readings and payments are better for us aren't they? Getting 5 payments a year rather than 4 means the money is in my bank account for me to use faster.

And reading submitted 1st Feb, payment received yesterday so 7 days. I can't really grumble about that:)
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • It would be nice if the reading date was accurate each and every year, it would make going on holiday easier if nothing else.

Fair enough. I have holidays at different times of the year so I'm not able to arrange them around my FIT payment dates anyway.

I just hope that the speedier readings are all year round and they don't suddenly decide to expand the time between reads over the summer when it really would matter!

Submitted reading by email (rather than by phone as requested) on Thur 29th November in the evening, received payment notification letter on saturday 8th December (so around 6 working days)

    Happy with that quick turnaround...
Well done EON FIT payment team!

    :T

Pleased to see the 5th FIT payment went through again pretty quickly this time.

That should help pay for the increased gas bill this quarter <BRRR!>

E.on have now introduced an e-mail reminder service to let you know when your meter reading is due and they pay within 5-10 working days of receipt.

My last FIT payment experience was as follows:

07/01/13 Received e-mail from E.on requesting meter reading
14/01/13 Sent e-mail to E.on with quarterly meter reading
21/01/13 Money received in bank account

None too shabby I think you will agree.

    ---

Yes I liked that feature but I noticed this most recent Quarter (1st Feb for me) that I did not receive the reminder from EON this time until the day itself, despite me sending reading the evening before!. The previous quarter gave a good weeks notice of the official FIT reading date....

Maybe that bit of the process is still manual or perhaps they just want to hang onto the money a little bit longer as they are approaching the end of their financial year?
