Serious question coming up. Why should they care? What does an energy provider get out of it? I'm not familiar with that part of the payment chain.

Cross-fertilisation - if you get a bad reputation on FIT payments, that bad reputation contaminates other aspects of your business.

And since the customers with FIT payments are likely to be better off than average, they're probably also going to be profitable energy customers.

Scottish Power seem to have grasped this principle. E.on seem to have missed it and are now (it seems) trying to put things right before too much damage is done to their business.

EDF are brilliant! Just transfer to them wait 1 year, then transfer back. You'll never complain about payment times again. Conflict resolution at it's best.

'Payments can take up to 90 days, following the end of the month in which a reading is requested.' That'll be 4 months then.

To be fair, they usually only take about 2.5 months!!!

Silly co-incidence - listening to CCR Fortunate Son as I typed this:

And when you ask them, "How much should we give?"
Ooh, they only answer More! more! more! yoh,
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Whilst e.on are German, and Scottish Power Spanish.

Strange world, isn't it? :)

So much for the helpful E.ON presence on this forum. As far as I can see I'm no farther advanced in getting my money. :wall:

The bit about emailing feedintariffenquiries@eonenergy.com seems to be an attempt to draw the sting from criticism they might otherwise receive publicly.

Note too that they want you to call a revenue sharing number

saynoto0870.com recommend you use 01234 733029 at normal landline rates.

British Gas pay up in under 28 days. Personally I'd vote with my feet if the chosen supplier wasn't performing adequately. If they later improve then you can always switch back.

My experience is with EDF and I don't recommend. Panels installed November 2011, full registration finally completed February 2012. First meter reading submitted end March 2012 and I await payment. Their terms make it clear that they will take up to 90 days from the end of the meter reading month to make payment. This bears no comparison with their competitors it seems. I also switched gas and electricity supply to them in October 2011 and they have been unable to produce a bill. Fair enough, I haven't paid anything, but they claim ongoing systems problems. I would avoid for the present.
