Payplan Vs CCCS Vs Grant Thornton
has anyone had any IVA dealings with GT?
I am torn who to choose to handle my IVA, still waiting to hear from CCCS for a proper chat but I know they are well respected.
PP & GT have given me conflicting information regrding a HP so far so my heads quite muddled at the minute.
Success or horror stories welcome to help me decide lol?

Whats your question about the HP? the correct answer will point you in the right direction? CCCS are quite reputable for debt advice, i dont know much about payplan or grant thornton0

Grant Thornton are well respected, but can somethimes be difficult to deal with. Payplan also have their fans, but seem to have some odd policies ( which might or might not affect you) and CCCS will pass you to either their sister company, CCCSVA, as they don't do them, or to Grant Thornton (well, at least they have done so in the past).
Personally I wouldn't go with any of them ... but then, you didn't ask that question ;0)0 -

CCCSVA are the same company as CCCS, it's a department of CCCS....0 -

To quote CCCS themselves:
"Individual voluntary arrangements
People who use our debt advice services might be advised to consider an individual voluntary arrangement (IVA) as a solution to their debt problem. To support people through this process, we set up Consumer Credit Counselling Service Voluntary Arrangements (CCCSVA). To find out more, please read about our CCCSVA service."
Even got it's own CEO.
Also, from their just released performance report:
"The Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA) company owned by leading debt charity
Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) achieved a 98 percent acceptance rate
for IVA proposals in the first six months of 2011, according to its newly released halfyear
performance figures."0 -

ok, but CCCSVA is still an official part of CCCS. I know many people who work for CCCS. it's all internal referrals. CCCSVA was set up to avoid outsourcing IVA's to other companies, CCCS wanted to be extremely ethical in how it offered IVA's, hence creating their own IVA department0 -
I'm with Payplan and had no problems. Paying back 23% of my total debt and just successfully cleared Year 1 review. Only thing is I was sure I was due a tax rebate for about 500 quid which never seems to have arrived...I think it's gone to them and they have distributed it to my creditors. Thought I might get some of it for me0

We have been approved with payplan since december, we have had a change in circumstances and had to change our car and they have always been spot on, they call always the same day and instead of wasting money on phone calls to them we email and they call back. We have had nothing but help and support from them and couldnt recommend them highly enough.
Its both the best and hardest thing we have ever done but 100% worthwhile.
we found cccs very helpful but also very very slow, by the time they eventually got back to us we had already been approved. We couldnt have afforded to wait that long!Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

why not? what do you see as an alternative? im just wondering.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Hi Chirpychick. It's just personal preference. CCCS were far too pushy when I started looking around, Payplan have some practices I don't agree with and I feel are incorrectly implimented ( just my opinion) and Grant Thornton was just too big and impersonal ... none of which makes them a bad choice for all --- you just need to find a company you feel you can work with for 5 years, and none of those ticked my boxes.0
