I am!
It' like waiting to be hung sat here hanging on for news. I should be distracting myself, but i can't help but dwell.

I feel for you. Hubby was made redundant from Leicester site last year. Thankfully he's what they are labelling as a "skilled engineer" so was able to find another job straight away. Fingers crossed for you xSmashed through my weightloss target. Looking at 120lbs+ loss. BMI over 40 down to 20.5. Training hard to get body fat under 20%, not far to go now :j0

Hello fellow wag x My DH works at one of the plants in Lancashire, what a horrible morning x'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0

Thanks for the company girls.
DH has definitely lost his job, so he has been doing his CV this afternoon. Urgh!! Thankfully we are a bit further outside of Hull than the rest of the boys, so maybe there won't be as much competition for jobs this far out. Maybe. Hopefully. lol!

I'm so sorry, I presume he works at Brough? We've just been given numbers at Salmesbury so don't know who is going yet. I really hope that your DH can find something soon and that they at least give him a decent payout to tide you over...sending you lots of love xx'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0

Yeah, he's at Brough. They just gave numbers too but because there are 900 out of the 1100ish that have to go it's pretty much a given. Plus he's a fitter and he thinks it's only office staff that will remain. I don't know, maybe he will get lucky, but i highly doubt it.
What were the numbers at Salmesbury - how many out of how many?
Love to you too. I guess at least the waiting is over for us now. I have my fingers crossed for you!Sarah.

Hubby says that over all, between Warton and Salmesbury, one in four shop floor and one in ten office workers will go. It is about 560 at Salmesbury and 820 at Warton I think. It seems to be the shop floor taking the biggest hit, there will be an awful lot of office staff left and not many people actually building anything. Hubby is a shop floor electrician so has a one in four chance of being laid off. It seems that Brough has really taken the brunt of it which seems unfair. They have said there will be a 90 day consultation period before they finalise who is going, which takes us nicely up to Christmas! Thanks Bae! We are having a stiff whiskey and hope you are too, thinking of you tonight, it could very well be us next x'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0

Yeah, how considerate of them to "let us get Christmas over with" and give us that 90 days until Boxing Day eh!! HA!
It didn't come as a surprise to us at least. It's been in the pipeline for years. Ho hum! Hopefully it sparks the beginning of brighter things! (trying to be optimistic!)Sarah.

Here's hoping that fate will be kind and find your hubby something with decent pay that he will be happy doing. Has he worked for Bae for a long time? I hope you will have a generous payout in the mean-time...I had a peep at your blog, you have beautiful children and you have one another, those are the most important things, sending you hugs, I will let you know what happens here too x'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0

He's worked there for about... 15 years, so a fair long time. What about your DH?
Thanks for having a read of my blog. I must agree, our kids rock!We do keeping saying that we are very fortunate in many ways, so we should keep perspective.

Hubby says he has managed 23 years... straight from school at the age of 16! We are getting old  I love your blog and you have so much going for you x You have been through so much already, I have no doubt that you will make the best of what is thrown at you. Lots of love xx'Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses' - Confucious0
