Moving from BT to Sky

I'm curently with Bt on Talk unlimited & Unlimited BB at £28 p/m
I'm fairly happy with the service but they DON'T want to renew what I have for another year at that price.
They offer the same £28 package but only with Eve & weekend free calls. It's another £4.50 p/m for the Unlimited talk, making it £32.50 p/m It's still not bad considering it's been a good service.
From Sky Page... (You can now take Sky Broadband with inclusive evening & weekend UK# calls for £10 a month without taking Sky TV when you take Sky Line Rental (£12.25 a month). + Plus £5 off BB UL for 6 months. ADD on £10 for activation.
You can see the saving, but is it too good to be true?
Am I missing something?
My Qs is....Is a switch to Sky a good move? On paper the saving is good but I don't want a #rap service.
Are there any hidden costs?
Is this £10 activation new & true?
Any thoughts form the experts?
Or should I stick with the "if it ain't broke don't fix it mentality".
Tnx

I left BT for Sky. Haven't looked back.0

I was considering thr same so i look forward to any replies. The sky deal does sound really good.0

If you can get Sky Unlimited it is a good deal, however if you're only offered Sky Connect I wouldn't bother as it has a poor rating.0

I'm just moving the other way. Been on sky for a year and although it has been ok, I only get the bare minimum of what they estimate my line can manage (I'm on up to 20Mb but only get 4!) so I'm paying a few quid extra and getting BT Infinity.
However, be warned that once you move your line rental to sky your options are limited if you want to move to another provider in the future, and you will more than likely have to sign back up to BT for another year before you can move elsewhere.0 -
Well I asked for same package / price again, but again was told they no longer do this package (mentioned above)
So I then asked for a MAC code & was told I should ask for it nearer my contract expiry date. I thought it was Oct 25 & they say it's Nov 25 and that I should ask for it on Nov 1st.
So I now have to hope, Sky keep their offer on till then.
No wonder BT are going down the tubes when they don't want to keep their longtime customers. I'm even saying "look I'll stay with you and lose the £82 saving I'll get if I move to Sky, if you give me the same old package".
So they're basically saying "No we don't want your money or your customer loyalty, you pay extra or walk".
Are BT going down the tube?
Are BT management secretly working for Sky and pushing people towards migrating to Sky?
Do BT shareholders realise the nutty policies that are being used to keep their customer base?
Could someone phone Sky and Tell them they have a winning package on their hands and to keep it till I sign up:money:
How weird is that?0 -
Also meant to say thanks for the advice and replies from the posters.

Should still be alright for you6 months half price Unlimited offer: Available in Sky’s broadband network area for new customers joining Sky Broadband, Sky Talk calls and line rental by 29 December 2011 without Sky TV.
BT should still have given you the MAC when requested, though you would have to pay early termination charges which if you have BT Broadband Option 3 Unlimited Anytime Call Plan is £14.75 per month remaining.
