Personally i lend in all of the categories Rosie, however i did start with a small amount of money and i only lent in the least risky categories at first as well. I only ever lend in batches of £10. I have to say it is a personal choice that anyone using Zopa has to make for themselves - i am more than happy to explain how to use the site and let you know what i am doing myself but ultimately you need to decide what risk you are willing to take and what level of interest you want to accept. I can't guarantee anything obviously! Its a bit scary getting asked for advice about what risk to take
Sorry Fairy I didn't mean to put you on the spot and I do understand what you mean. I will read up a bit more on it but I was only going to try a small amount anyway.:D

£5 from covering additional work for an absent colleague today.

For all potential zopa~ites, I also list on all markets and only offer £10 per listing, I guess I figure that if someone defaults somewhere down the line I can just about live with that loss. A saying that I live my life by is 'never lend what you can't afford to lose' and that fits in pretty well with my zopa lending. Like fairy says it is very much down to the individuals attitude to risk

Well I have just transferred £50 to Zopa, sticking to my original plan when setting up the offers. The 'more info' tab on the offer page was really helpful in deciding what rate to offer, so I'm happy with it now, just got to wait for the money to transfer over.

I have £2.01 to add today. I ordered some gift vouchers (Love 2 Shop) with Park, you pay the cost of the vouchers over the year (or 6 months in my case!), and they let you keep a commission, so I paid £198 for £200 worth of vouchers :T
I'm very pleased with them as not only have a saved a couple of quid by doing it and made funding Xmas a bit easier, they also sent out a ton of other offers and coupons to use when you spend the vouchers - they are all worth at least £5 and are all in shops that I would use anyway, like Boots :T Will definitely be doing this next year.

Oh yeah, and the extra penny is SS till roadkill :D

Well done lolly ~ that's the bit I find the hardest, waiting for the money to transfer and be applied to the lending offers I've made ~ I want it to happen instantly and of course it doesn't :o

    :D

Definitely, I'm really excited to get started so it's a pain having to wait! How long does it usually take to loan the money out, once it's been transferred in? I've gone for mid range rates in most categories.
