Caz, have you investigated Virgin? If you have it in your area it might be worth it. I get phone, broadband and a Tivo box for around £35, which sounds like it meets your needs.

The other thing is you can buy TV recorders which will record TV onto a hard drive, but of course you have to remember to programme them, whereas the Tivo is a quick press of the button to record the whole series.

Finally, threaten to leave sky and see what discounts they will give you to stay... I do it for Virgin regularly and it does help. I'm also religious about doing this with my mobile phone contract.

Re the beans and courgettes, you might find if the littlies help grow them, they will eat them. Also, no reason why you and DH can't eat them even if the littlies don't!

About the raspberries... are they summer flowering canes? If so, you need to be careful how you prune them, or you get minimal fruit! Next year's canes will be shooting now, so you need to be careful you don't prune them by accident when cutting off the old canes! I made that mistake the first year I had them and learned the hard way!

For Autumn flowering raspberries, the new canes grow in spring, so you don't have to be careful when pruning.

Where did you get the free potato starter pack? I'd love to grab one!

Could threaten to leave Sky, but can't threaten to go elsewhere as Virgin/BT TV are not available in our area. Virgin internet is and it's shocking (some local friends have it). Sky phone is cheaper for us than BT.

The "they" was aimed at DH as well as the kids. If anything he's more fussy than they are! :o

Interesting. They've flowered through summer, but I will check with my mum (who I got them off) before I prune. Thankyou :)

Ah, that one I'm afraid I can't share as it's a schools offer, and because we are now a home educating family we qualify for it too :) Sorry!

So, today I'm on the final slog of my final assignment. 1060/2000 so far. Going to try get it done by the end of today so that I can go shopping tomorrow (assuming I can make tonight's dinner without a shop... :undecided)

Payday was last Friday, need to update spreadsheets and check bills etc, transfer money across for clothing items that have been bought so everything is as of should be. That's my reward for finishing my essay.

I've made another large decision. After 9 years of fishkeeping I'm selling up for a while. I need a break. So I've someone coming to collect some fish and plants on Saturday. I will put the money away.

I have prevailed upon her to put on a pair of socks and a vest. But otherwise she is still naked. :undecided

  • Obviously she doesn't feel the cold like you! A young exhibitionist in the making... do not react it only makes an issue of the matter. (or should that be a matter of the issue?!?!):o

Indeed she does not. Nor in fact do manwife, or Lumpy. They are obviously wired differently than myself and Squish. :snow_grin

I don't make an issue of it unless she is literally shivering/has goose pimples. Or if we are out and about somewhere. Clearly undressing at the supermarket is not ok, but in our house I'm not bothered about as long as she isn't cold.

My younger DD used to take all her clothes off, winter and summer, including on one occasion, in the supermarket :o

She also learned a VERY rude word from her older brother who knew he wasn't allowed to say it himself (aged about 9) but thought it very funny to teach it to the VERY LOUD baby. And she said (shouted) that in the supermarket as well :o

However, as with most things, she grew out of it all - she still has the powerful voice, but now put to good use - she is a teacher now :rotfl:
