. A fraud conviction??!?
If I put that message across I did not mean to. Its too much given what you have said to suggest this, but you really need to read what you are signing and ask if you don't understand.[Deleted User] wrote:I didn't deliberately tell them i wasn't working. When they asked if i had done any work in the last 2 weeks, i just assumed they meant paid work, said no and stupidly signed the agreement, without reading it.
Thats a silly assumption to make. Work is work is work is work, especially on JSA.
Then thats fine, at this point the worst that can happen is you have to pay back what you were not entitled to if thats the outcome.[Deleted User] wrote:What happens if it was an honest mistake?
Honesty is the best solution for you.
D70How about no longer being masochistic?
How about remembering your divinity?
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out?
How about not equating death with stopping?0 -

[Deleted User] wrote:@reverbe Congrats on the job, i doubt you would have to see the Compliance Officer. It says on the letter to call them if you can't attend, or have a change in circumstances.
(nice signature by the way, 24 still rocks).

Thanks. Still loving 24 myself. Had the pleasure of being tweet replied to by the great man Buchanan himself once
:grinheart:heartpuls
EDIT called jobcentre today YES I still have to go see the Compliance Officer. As I will be out of their faces in a matter of days it seems pretty darn pointless to me tbh. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Just checked my bank account today, and my JSA was still paid in this morning.
Don't know if this is a good sign, or not. Would they still pay me if they thought i was committing fraud?
I don't know whether to call the compliance officer up directly to ask what the issue is. Or do you think that would just !!!! them off?0 -
I tried to call them to get mine cancelled as I will be signing on now only for a matter of days. They wont tell you anything or let you speak to the person named. I feel sometimes these names/titles are fictitious ones to indicate a certain level of employee and I suspect that in my case a Mrs X xxxxx will not be the person that I will be seeing..
My payment for last signing day (friday) has apparently gone ahead and again that was a thought that crossed my mind also. But I have had issues with my claim being closed by DWP worker unknown for no good reason and without informing me by letter so something shonky is going on somewhere. Belfast tell me my claims not closed, several local jobcentre staff keep telling me on their systems my claim appears closed. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Just got offered the job that i had the interview for (in the motor fraud unit)!
Absolutely delighted. Just need to get this annoying Customer compliance interview out of the way now.
Just wondering what i have to do now? do i call the JCP and tell them, or wait till i actually start work?0 -
congrats! mungy you will still sadly have to attend. Mine is today . called them yesterday to tell them am starting work on Tuesday.they told me i still have to go. havent slept all night and worried about this. if they make me pay it back i will lose all my savings. I scrimp and save cos i was told many years ago i will NOT get a pension (by the pension service) . new "job" is only part time and will not mean I am in the dosh.am hardly living life of riley as it is. had no fridge for over 2 years, eat value noodles as a main meal. walk several miles to next town when hair needs cutting as its the cheapest place i can find, sleep on a floor, have no friends and social life etc etc already. have not claimed the half of things i could claim - recently paid 10 quid to attend an interview (didnt claim back) havent whined to them about having no fridge etc, dont claim rent orcouncil tax benefit, pay it out of my dole etc etc..am seriously worried about what dire straits I will be in if they ask me for hundreds or thousands back not to mention hwo i will cope as a senior citizenWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

sorry to hear that reverbe.
Let us know how your interview goes. Mine is still arranged for friday.
Just about to call the JCP and tell them about the job. Will ask them about this customer compliance interview, although i doubt they will know much.0 -
If you were working unpaid, you were not available and looking for work on those days, so you will loose benefit.
Also you say understaffed ? so if you were working at a place that normally pays staff to do what you do, then he should have paid you minimum wage for that time and declared your employment.
EXACTLY. And thats why people kick up a stink about unpaid work placements, the Work Programme,New Deal etc.
Because they keep changing the rules to suit themselves and fill the providers pockets and to placate the Daily Mail readers.0 -
Good luck mungy. Will post later about mine. still not sure whats going to come of it. ie if i have passed unscathed or if they have something up their sleeves. the lady "appeared" nice ...What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
