How long does 3 (Three Mobile) take to do a credit check?

I ordered the HTC Sensation of they're website and they were very helpful, I have had 1 email through saying the following :-

Hi Kellie,

Thanks for placing an order with us; If any of the details are incorrect, just give us a call as soon as possible on , quoting your order reference below.


Reason I ask is because I ordered this phone around 12pm and I rung up 3 at about 13:45 and they told me my order was going through a final security check. Does this mean I will find out soon? The fact that I am through to the final check must mean I am ok with the credit check right? Or they would of instantly declined?

    This has happened to me too, except when I called the dude said they were performing a full credit check, rather than a security check. Have they took the £1.95 admin fee from your bank account? This is part of the security check I believe. I also have bad credit and pretty sure they will decline me...either that or request an upfront deposit which they have been known to do.

    I do know someone with adverse credit who has been accepted by 3 for a mobile phone contract but she was cold called...she passed the credit check with them with flying colours and they sent her phone out. However, when she applied via the actual 3 website before this cold call she was declined within hours of applying. Weird.

    Edited to say the guy said it would take 24 hours to perform the credit check and I should call back after that time to find out the decision.
    £170/£12,000

    A long way to go but enjoying the challenge! ;)

    My last two orders from three's website were processed in 14 and 28 minutes respectively. If approved you will get the following e-mail
    We’ve checked your details and now have everything we need. So your order is ready to go. If any of the details below are incorrect, just give us a call as soon as possible on xxxxxxxxxxx, quoting your order reference number below

    If declined it will be
    We are sorry but your details don’t match what we need for you to pass our credit check. Unfortunately, this means that we’ve had to cancel your order on our system
