I used tyreshopper.co.uk again for 205/55R16 V on my Astra. They are the online portal for national tyres so you get them fitted at their branches.

I got the mid-range Barum Bravuris 2 this time for £62 each fully fitted, the Michelins you mention are £93 each fully fitted.

Dunlop SP01's are down to £70 each at the moment too.

I'd just advise people not to let their poor cars anywhere near kwikfit...

I've used a bunch of different garages through black circles and never had any issues.

I used Kwikfit last time, as they were cheaper than anywhere else when buying online - Blackcircles included. The service they provided was pretty much identical to BlackCircles, having used them several times aswell - buy online and book a time, drive in, get tyres fitted, drive away. Changing 4 tyres is not exactly rocket science.

Obviously, I'd never let them look at anything mechanical on my car, or drive in and buy tyres off them at full price, but their online tyre service is very competitive and should not be overlooked.

OP - also check out Mytyres.com and Costco. When Costco do their 20% off tyres deal they're also very cheap, although they only stock Michelin.

I've paid online for tyres through Kwikfit a number of times and have no problems with the service received.

The Sport contact 2 is a good tyre, as are bridgestone potenza, or a little cheaper hankook evo, toyo proxes T1S / R, falken FK452 - but not the FK912 (average at best) are all excellent. Kumho KU or KH31's arent bad either

I found the pirelli P6000 to be a very average tyre at best, though others seem to disagree with that - may be a bit car specific

Black circles are doing either the FK452 or Toyo proxes T1S at around £73-76 each so £292-£304 fitted - that's where my money would be going if things are tight.

Otherwise they show eagle F1s (which I thought were discontinued) in your size at about £83 a corner so £332. I would find these very, very hard to resist only Pirelli P zeros or track tyres (if it was a track car) are better imo, all of which will cost twice as much

I don't know anyone who would even rate the P6000 as average.

As for the Eagle F1 it does depend on which size is required. The older GSD3 has been slowly phased out to be replaced by the Eagle F1 Assymetric 2. However, the Assym 2 isn't available in all fitments so the GSD3 continues on but will slowly disappear as it falls foul of some drive by noise regulations.

The T1R has also been superseded and is being replaced by the T1-Sport.
