Virgin Media box query

I upgraded to the v+ box so the old one now resides in the bedroom, however recently it has become very unstable, and now if i try to get the reply forget it!

If I ring them up what do you reckon is the chance to get a new bog standard box gratis?

You don't OWN any of the equipment with VM,you only rent it.(Unlike Sky,which is why you pay Sky £65 service call but with VM the service calls are free)
You say it's now in the bedroom,is this an install done by NTL/VM themselves,as if it's not you have no hope.VM may also want the old box back if it's a digital one.And you will also have to pay £7.50 a month for the second box service & you'll have to pay a install/set up fee,depending on what's on offer.

yep thats what i am worried about, but it as a VM install as the engineer moved it from down stairs to upstairs


i reckon i already pay a rental on the second box mind, perhaps if its reported as faulty??

If you already pay for the second box,then a service call would be free but you'd need to ask for a downgrade from V+ to a standard,bear in mind VM don't do the old analogue anymore.

i think its a digital upstairs, just not v+

Straight swap then.although it may not be the box that's faulty.Could be the splitter,isolator or cabling.Service Tech will be able to check with a SLM & repair it,service call will be free tho.(just make sure you have some Chocolate Hob Nobs....lol)
