Good luckOk, I replied this morning to the email explaining and offering more photos or questions. I do have a photo on the listing of the camera turned on to show it working.
I haven't told them I live alone though, so I'll see what happens.
. I hope you do get the price you are after. "Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

If the seller won't let me view an item costing me a couple of hundred quid, I'll just go elsewhere - so will most other people, as likely or not - and then the OP may be as safe as houses (so to speak) but can't get what they want for the camera.
It's called an opportunity cost.
.
How do you know this? Sold a few items costing hundreds? Think not.
I've sold scores of items, laptops and phones, costing up to £400.
I've only been asked for collection twice.
Also "it's called an opportunity cost" - whaaat? Who calls anything that? It's gibberish.0 -

No, it's because living in an isolated spot means you have to be more careful of the townies!
My car broke down in East Sussex about 3 years ago, miles from anywhere. No mobile signal either. I'd passed a scruffy little cottage a mile back and hoofed it there. Found a little old lady, the only occupant, who made me tea and sandwiches while the AA got there.
Thank god she wasn't like you.
Sent her a hamper at Christmas, never forgotten her kindness.0 -

Usually people with your view are townies who've moved to the country and think its like the crime ridden hole they've come from.0 -

Very glad you found help.
Thank god you weren't like my burglar
Please be a bit more thoughtful instead of jumping on people with snippy remarks. They're hurtful.0 -
It's one of those things where you have to just state your answer rather than your reasoning. "Sorry but I don't accept house calls" isn't rude and doesn't offer an explanation where none is needed. 'No' doesn't have to be rude or involve a lot of pandering wordage.0

Just to update, the camera sold for £240 to a different buyer who paid straight away.
More than happy
Thanks for the advice.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0
