Ebay problem - Advice welcome

I sold one of the U2 cd wallets on ebay last week and donated the proceeds to a charity at work.

I sent the wallet to the guy on friday and he got it today, but he wants the Cd's and dvd's that go with it. I originally forgot to add that the auction didn't include the cd's or dvd, so i edit my acution before he placed his bid and added this:

On 05-Jan-07 at 01:51:30 GMT, seller added the following information:

Please note this is just the wallet :)

He then placed his first bid at 05-Jan-07 16:03:08 GMT

This was after i added the edit to the listing, he's now getting shitry because he didn't read the listing properly, i have told him it was his responsability to read all the information on the listing.

What should i do next?

Tell him to go away politely and buy a dictionary. His issue - not yours...

At the end of the day the buyer should be reading the auction properly, I would just email them and say it was clearly stated in the auction what was for sale and he should have read the auction in full before placing a bid

You will have to wait and see if the buyer opens a paypal or ebay dispute if he is trying that hard to get the money back as it may be easier to tell him to return it at his own cost and you will refund the money and then just re-list it

Wait for a couple of days and see if they don't bother and keep an eye out in case they decide to be funny and leave you a neg feedback

You listed the item saying it includes the 3 CD's....and even listed the tracks...

You added those extra few words at the bottom 3 days later, which changed the whole item completely. If it was already in peoples watch lists before you added that, they would not be expecting the item to go from 3cds, to NO cd's.

You already had bids on the item before adding that all important piece of info...and by that time the bids were already higher than just for an empty wallet, judging by an average of what the empty wallets go for

The item sold for the price that the others fetch including the cd's.....

hmmm....could be a shill bid going on there as well....
  • yeah you did write in BIG letters in the first few lines that it DID include the cd's, i think you should send em.

Personally after now seeing the auction page I would refund the buyer as it's obvious they thought there was CD's with the bid being £28 as no-one would pay that for the cardboard sleeve

he may not have the cd's...if he got the U2 wallet from a link on these forums in the "freebie" section....it was just for the wallet on its own.

Definite misleading auction. Refund the guy or send him the discs.

It was such a massive 'error' in the listing that you should have cancelled it and submitted another one this time omitting 90% of the wording in your listing!!

Certainly looks like it, look at the last item in the feedback

I would hazard a guess that bidder 4 is the same as the multiple bidder on this U2 auction.
