No grabbit here0

Mine only took £3 off as well, but I spotted it as they put it through, so they cancelled it and rung it through manually instead.0
-
They are aware of it I asked CS if they accept them and she said yes but there is a problem with them make sure the cashier manually takes off the £10.0

I think that as the Mirror £10 voucher was originally posted on here as a Grabbit, the OP of this thread is pointing out a problem with it.
Some people who have used the voucher on a large shop, may not have checked their receipts and may be unaware of an incorrect amount being deducted form their bill.
The OP should be thanked for pointing out this error instead of being criticised.“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0 -
This has been spoken about and reported in the relevant thread yet once again we have yet another Tesco thread which has no 'Grabbit' posted:doh:
And for those so concerned they are only saving £3 then snatch the voucher back and go and use it in Morrisons:idea::dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

Yes takes the intended £10 off!:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

Goodness me, guys. There may a few MSErs who havent checked their receipts as I hadn't initially. If so then this thread has alerted them to the fact that they are missing out on £7 which they would not have had the chance to rectify. I make no apologies for posting here. It will be on the 10th or 11th page by tomorrow but at least a lot of folk will be alerted to the negative glitch on the vouchers value who perhaps will be redeeming over the next week.:A Every moment is a gift. Anyone else had this or am I going crazy? I have bought 5 Sunday Mirrors too so I am only gaining £2 benefit off each paper and having to spend £60 each time just to get it!!!!
Am I best redeeming them in Morissons (I used it in Tesco!)?
What do you guys think?
Has anyone redeemed it in Morissons for the full face value of £10 today?I don't have it to hand for the full barcode. However, I looked at it earlier and mine ends in 3008 so I am assuming that it will only take £3 off. Also the Tesco one ends in 5008. hthMorrisonsEmployee wrote: »Yes takes the intended £10 off!
Firstly let me say that Morrisons ( and 'Employee hopefully will confirm) NEVER SCAN COUPONS.
I redeem the odd few in 3 Morrisons stores and NEVER has a SA scanned the barcode.
It's ALWAYS a manual input of its value with a specific button press on the till to "engage discount mode"
Even with the advent of Self-Scan my recent experience is that the SA that has to attend in this situation still inputs the value and they never scan it - ALMOST as if their system does not scan or process the "99 barcode" of a standard money-off coupon
This applies to £5 off £20 spend types from newspapers and elsewhere, those issued by manufacturers offering 10p off a tin of beans, luncheon vouchers & similar, or even Morrison's own gift vouchers. (Like those £25 ones issued for the £40 spends for 5 or 6 weeks just before Xmas)
Secondly UNLESS this coupon has a "very special" non-standard barcode that HAS been programmed into the Morrison's tills' computer system - (after all presumably Morrison's themselves have had this promotional MOC printed in the SM for redemption in their stores - so they are expecting it) - so that it can be scanned and WILL DISCOUNT £10....
.... THEN having a "standard barcode" IT CANNOT SCAN FOR £10 discount
Thirdly, IF it has the above ("very special" non-standard barcode) THEN IT WILL NEVER SCAN at Tesco - for ANY amount of money - be like waving a ZEBRA in front of the scanner - not programmed to see or recognise it (IF it's a special Morrison's only voucher barcode why would Tesco's computer know about it?)
Finally, an explanation of the "secondly" statement ....
"having a "standard barcode" IT CANNOT SCAN FOR £10 discount"
Below is a quote from another thread that contains one of the 5 or 6 Barcode "Public Information Posts"that I've made over the years in response to MSE members queries and misconceptions about barcodes in that time.
This one covers this specific issue ...
Hope it helps
99 makes it a MONEY-OFF BARCODE (nothing specifically to do with universal scanning or where its accepted)
It's a standard within the industry so that tills can be programmed to recognise MOCs (Money Off Coupons) and DEDUCT (automatically or otherwise) an amount from the bill rather than add to the total.
Whether it actually even physically scans as a barcode is NOT absolutely guaranteed, those that do scan may or may not be accepted or acted upon.
As per this one, it is 99nnnnnnn500x
the 500 is the value in pence = £5
These 3 digits (positions 10, 11 & 12) obviously can be anything from 000 to 999
£9.99 is the maximum
000 means the sales assistant has to enter the value of the coupon.
000 is either because the value is £10 or more, OR more frequently when the coupon is for a FREE product and the cost of that item varies across retailers (and the issuer obviously would prefer to refund to the shop, for instance, 44p for a 44p item and not 55p to somewhere selling it for 20p - by making it a fixed 55p "maximum" value .. eg. 99nnnnnnn055x)
The nnnnnnn bit identifies the coupon to a manufacturer or product or both, or the issuer etc.
The 13th digit "x" is a check-digit and a "security device" to ensure to a resonable degree that the barcode is not mis-read by the scanner. It value (0 to 9) is created by a calculation using all the other 12 numbers and this is recalculated, checked and re-verified when it's scanned to determine a "good read"
So as pointed out by MSEer 3010, the Morrison's MOC ends in 3008, and since it IS a standard 99 barcode, so it WILL be read, recognised and actioned as a MOC in TESCO, and it knocks off the £3 "it is supposed to" (what the barcode says)
Obviously the barcode it the WRONG one - should be 000 (not 300) - so that the SA IS FORCED to enter its value.
In Morrisons the wrong barcode isn't an issue - the SA DOESN'T READ the barcode - they read £10 OFF and do as I said in my first point.
