How much for a wireless card?

I'm pretty sure I haven't got a wireless card (checked device manager and nothing saying 'wireless' in there) and I'm looking to sign up to SKY Broadband in a few weeks where I would get a free wireless broadband box. Assuming that I shouldn't buy the wireless card through them where should I get it from and approx how much will it be? Also where do I put it (anyone answers 'I could tell you' and I'll be informing your parents!?!).

You can get one here for less than £10 if your PC has a standard PCMCIA slot, however some later notebooks use a different Express Card slot which is different. Check your expansion slot before buying anything!:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Thats me when it comes to this subject. I know very little about the working of a PC. Where can I check whether I have a standard PCMCIA slot or better still where can I check what I've got so I can post it on here and hopefully one of you kind souls can advise me on what to do?There's no such thing as stupid questions, just stupid people.0 -
Its a pc. Friend at work said I can get something that plugs into a USB port. I've only got two usb ports but I've got an adaptor that plugs into one and gives me an extra four.There's no such thing as stupid questions, just stupid people.0

I would avoid USB network cards if possible, especially if your using a unpowered hub (the expansion thing)
You can get a internal card for £10-20. checking on ebay using something like "wireless PCI" they are fairly easy to fit or maybe someone could do it for you. Either usb or wireless will cost you no more than £10-20

EDIT You won't have a PCMICA as that is a laptop interface, also consider that the wireless router will most likely have a wired connection as well.0 -
