I have been mooching around the forum for a couple of hours now. At the beginning of my mooch, I found a FANTASTIC list of recipes - loads of clickable links to some really great things. And now I can't find it anywhere.
How on earth can I find it? There are a gazillion posts on here!

Hi sls1365
There is a large list of recipes on the first page of this thread and there is also Rosieben's wonderful 'complete cooking collection' in the Mega Index

Good luck with the challenge and just remember not to set yourself too low budget at first, it takes time to bring your spending down and if you set it too low to start out with, you are more likely to get disheartened when you find it hard to stick to.
Also, if you do find that you go over budget, it does not mean that you have failed (a lot of people seem to think that:()
You will have succeeded in learning to keep track of your spending, you will have learn't to look at what you buy, whether it is something that you really need and you will have learn't how to make the most of everything that you buy so that it might last longer. So certainly not failed:)

The other real nuisance thing that I do is put leftovers into the freezer, in little plastic boxes, unlabelled. Then of course, I have no idea what they are when I peer into the box!
I totally do this too! Will have to try the masking tape...the other day at work I thought I had beef stroganoff/ mushrooms and rice and I actually had rissoles/ gravy/ and mash! Have tried to find the curry I know is in there but can't seem to identify it "Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without!!"Nov NSD: ?/30 Nov Make 10 Day ?/300Get Rid Of Debt: ?/2000 !! :mad:0 -

I also take yesterday's leftover dinner into work as there's a microwave there. That's especially good in the winter! Couscous is a good lunchy thing and cup a soups are ok.
I went to our new a1di today for the first time. It's much easier to find than our other one, and somewhere I could actually cycle (quite far but great exercise and less option to buy loads!). I will def be keeping my eye out for the super 6, as I am an official convert! Today, I got mushrooms, 2.5kg baking spuds and 2 big leeks, and 69p! Result. Also bought some of their washing liquid to try. It was £2 something, and it said 28 washes, which for me means about 50 washes!!! If it's good, that's a definite result. Some good Christmas present ideas in there too, like wooden toys for £8.99 and sing along cd and books packs for £2.99. And lush big packs of nice ham for 1.79! Can you tell I haven't been to an a1di for a while?!
Off to 'make' lunch - lo pizza from yesterday (one slightly crispier than the other!) and lo bacon, leek and lentil soup. After today, any lo soup will be frozen for use when I get back next week.
Enjoy the rest of the day,

Thats a very good idea about using the frozen bread. Have you ever tried freezing sandwiches. Someone else was posting a while back about this. Suppose it would depend on the filling."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

I just realised - if I didn't smoke (£5.64 per day) I would have had 4 consecutive NSDs this week. I have made an appointment with the stop smoking people for 10.30am tomorrow.....:j
slsGave up smoking on 16/11/11 :j
