  • Morning all

Total of GC spends this week are £41.89. hmmmm that's not too bad. But am going to have to make next months GC even smaller as my finances have taken a tumble.

Ahh well at least I know I can do it with all these lovely peeps on this board - thanks everyone :)

Oh and many thanks to OP who posted about Am&z0n and that they stocked grocery items and in bulk too - am now the delighted owner of 10 bottles of a well known branded washing up liquid that cost me less than a fiver and that included delivery - should last me ages.........:)It's one of things that I always leave off the shopping list so I can rest easy for a while - but it does mean no excuses for leaving the washing up.

still under budget at the moment this month :jhad a few small spends totalling £38 leaving me £52 for next week and hopefully wont go over but kids are on half term so will no doubt eat for england.
having a halloween tea/party next weekend but planning on doing some halloween baking rather than buying so hopefully keep the spends down a bit and give the kids something to do.

apart from mr t basic stirfry mix I buy all fresh veg but seriously considering trying some frozen esp as coming into the colder months we'll prob be having more stews ect (gotta try and get the hang of the slow cooker) and tbh dont really have the time in the mornings to be peeling veg though i know I could prob do it the night before i tend to forget.

goodluck for the rest of the month

  • Have wavered a little bit this month on the meal plan but all in the name of not over-spending! Had needed to make purchases to follow the meal plan & so decided to cook up things we'd already got in! Going to have to be inventive this week too but should have enough to put things together because only got to cook til Wednesday. daughter's Birthday Thursday & so away & then party Fri!

Will have the kids baking tomorrow for the week's treats. Baking & crafts tomorrow for entertainment for the kids.

  • Hi All

Well done to all you savvy grocery shoppers! I've gone over budget bigstyle this month:(

I've been ill for a couple of weeks so Mr De Bris kindly stepped in and did the shopping and cooking. Meal plan went out the window; Fish n Chips and Pizza came in the front door! So bang went budget and bang went the diet.

Looking forward to starting afresh next month.

Thank you to everyone who replied to my meal planning thread. I have had some fab ideas :j Please share your meal planning tips if you haven't already done so :j

I visited the supermarket today and bought the lunch stuff needed for the week plus a bag of chips, 2 bottles of fizzy pop (on offer) and a few random bits (bubble bath - half price :D and an air freshener (smelly trainers!!)

I have sorted through my fridge and have just roasted up two huge trays of veggies which once cooled will blend to make soup :D

Last thing on my list is to meal plan... I'm hoping that I can plan meals for the week solely on what is in the fridge/freezer/cupboard. Then planning to have a home delivery shop on Saturday or Monday? but only after I have planned to the letter for the next month!!

    Debt-free and Proud!
Hubby chickened out of going shopping on his own today to pick up the things I'd forgotten yesterday so guess I have the joy of that tomorrow. He went to the footy but refrained from treating himself so today has been a NSD, yippee!
