• Good Evening All!
I do hope you have all enjoyed the sunshine if you have had it!

I decided to go for a walk up on the gorgeous Malver hills, and so on the way back I did my weeks shopping at Mr M's.

I bought 2 x oven chips on offer of 2 for £1.50, will last me 20+ meals, Turkey steaks which were half price at £1, a chicken which is roasting in the oven now, some cheese, mini veg spring rolls, C*mpbells savoury rice x 7 (half price and well worth stocking up for 32p!! ) cooking bacon for £1 (got 3 bacon steaks in it, some small rashers and bits to cook with!) Some salad - lettuce, cucumber, carrots & coleslaw, then my awesome whoopsies haul! I got 3 x 250g purple sprouting @ 29p each, 2x Blueberry 150g tubs @49p, bag satsumas @49p, bag Oranges @49p, Cheese and tom flat bread for 39p, and 4cherry scones for 19p.
Out of this one tub of blueberries is in the freezer for muffins, the flat bread is cut into quarters and in the freezer to go with pasta, the scones are individually wrapped in the freezer, the purple sprouting blanched and frozen making approx 15portions :)
Total spend = £18.79
Then dropped by to see parents where mum gave me 24 bitesize sausage rolls and dad gave me baby beetroot from the garden :)

So with this in mind, my meal plan for this week -

Sun - Dinner - Roast chicken, chips, stuffing, coleslaw and purple sprouting

Mon - lunch - Chicken salad & crackers, - Dinner - Chicken sweet and sour with mini spring rolls

Tue - Lunch - Mini sausage rolls and salad - Dinner - Chicken and bacon lasange with cheese and tom flatbread / salad leaves.

Wed - Lunch - Chicken salad and crackers - Dinner - Chicken curry with rice and onion bhaji's.

Thurs - Lunch - Ham & cheese salad with crackers, - Dinner - Pasta and Pesto

Fri - Lunch - Cheese & crackers - Dinner - Shepherds Pie & veg (from freezer)

Sat - Lunch - Chicken and sweetcorn noodle soup - Dinner - Bangers and Mash with baked beans.

So fingers crossed 5 NSD's in a row forthcoming for me!

Enjoy the week!

• Coming in to the thread a bit late but have kept tabs on my spending total is £77.54 after doing a large shop this weekend. Im aiming for £300 this month for family of 5 and 2 pets. I have been away from the thread and although never gone massively astray I miss not knowing the exact amounts so back on track for the last quarter of the year.

£130 sounds like it would be an impossible task for me and my other half, if I could spend as little as this I'd be a happy lady! How do you do it?!

Hi, I only do one big shop per month, then I only have to buy milk, fruit, and vegs during the month. I make my own bread, cook everything from scratch. I dont buy biscuits or cakes I make them.
Also helps the OH has porridge every morning for breakfast and that is so cheap.

I also try and batch cook so when I have the oven on I do about six different dishes then freeze them. We make our own pizzas and also chinese. So we are not missing out. But the biggest thing is I know what is in the food we eat
.
I have some debt and I want to get rid of it, so thats how it started.

But I now know that when I have my debt is paid off I will still live like this and save my money. My Oh says we eat better now than we did before.

Evening All

Haven't joined this challenge for a few months but please put me down for £400
Thats for family of 5 and eldery parents a few times per week.

Am looking forward to getting back on track.
Spent £24.14 in Mr T's yesterday and to be honest there were things that were not really needed. Had eldest son with me and that didn't help:)

£5 today in Sainsbugs 2 x 2 litre Milk £2, 2 large packs sausages £2, and pack of blueberry muffins .... I know I should bake them, but DD fancied them so there you go, but they were £1...could have been worse.

All the best to everyone for the month and I look forward to reading all the posts.

Here goes my first update post....:j

I thought i was having a good start to the month until i sat down and added things up! We are now £107.10/£130

Visited A!di yesterday and purchased some grated cheddar 500g for £1.99, value peppers, 4 litres of milk, 2 x bottles of fizzy pop, 2 x loafs of bread and a cucumber. The peppers and cheese in the freezer and should last well over a month! Total spend £7.72Visited B&M and bought 2 burritos kits for 10p each(dated but i have frozen wraps
:D) and strawberry jam and marmalade for £1.28.

In my last post i said i was going to look at buying some reusable nappies for my 2 little ones... I might regret it but i decided on new pack from NCT as i found a voucher code on here for 45% off. They did still cost £150:eek:, but hopefully will save us over £350 as we currently spend ~£30 a month. Im taking £30 from our grocery shopping for the next 5 month to pay for them, and im still a bit worried about the swap from disposable, especially on my elderst who is 2yo.

That means i have £1 to last the next 8 days! We are going to need some more milk and bread so predicting an overspend, which i hope to pull back at the end of the month...

We had a lovley roast chicken sunday dinner, with enough chicken left for 2 more meals.... but my OH threw the chicken carcass in the bin while i was making muffins so no soup for us!

Hope everyones had a nice weekend

• another day of spending, went a bit ott, so in asda spent £8.44 this included the glitch yogurts, got 19 of those, so thats breakfast sorted for the month, some whoopsied breaded haddock pieces, breadcrumbs, guac and tzaiki and orange juice.

mr s spent £12.50 this included 4 salmon fillets, which were £5 down from £10 i only buy these when these are half price, some chicken pieces, mixed veg, apples and some treats, whew!

going to have to be careful now as i have spent about 80% of my budget, but have a lot of meals in my cupboards/freezer/fridge.

Had fajitas for dinner they were so yum, made home made coleslaw and poatatoe salad, with added tzatziki it was yum, guac

Also made some crunchy chicken, which will go with the salad for lunch 2mo, or fajitas, dunno yet.

Hi all. first post in October! just incase it wasn't caught in the last thread I would like to stick to £420 this month as I am going to do a little bit of stocking up although I can't do too much as I a changing job and OH is waiting for an op so money is tight.

Been to Ald! today and spent £9.95 and then to Mr A and spent £23.87, took advantage of the muller light glitch and got 10 for 90p so happy with hat as I don't buy them anymore as I buy multipacks which work out at 25p per yoghurt rather than mullers 61p per yoghurt. If only I could do every weeks shop for £33!

Hoping that apart from milk and possibly bread I have enough in now to last until next weekend when I am hoping to go to F@rmfoods as their chicken breasts are on offer and my ususal discount shops. Hope all is well with everyone.
