Be very careful with lovefilm - I am in a massive dispute with them as even if you cancel within the time specified they send dvds more out and then charge you the monthly fee.0

Yes i found a customer services number which i cant find just now, but i got if from google and i called them stating that they had taken an un authorised payment from my account and if it wasnt sorted i would be going to t.s it did take a few weeks but i did eventually get the monies refunded, ive read on here when cancelling to delete all your selections and that way they cant send you any more out, i will be trying this as im going to be cancelling later this week as next payment due 29th january. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Wow, glad I came across this thread.
I've had the same issue with Lovefilm - signed up for a 3 month trial, returned all of my DVD's well in advance and made sure none were in my queue, then went to close my account - sorry, because they received the DVD's 1 day late they decided to charge my credit card, which no longer exists. This meant I couldn't close my account until paying them the £12.99.
Their CS department are morons and cannot read. I've yet to come across an exception, and I've had emails from 4 different CS people. Really, it's not that difficult to read a clear explanation of the problem and answer the polite questions given. Obviously to lovefilm, watching too many trashy DVD's has rotted their brains (and sense).
In short, I have stated that I should not be penalised because Royal Mail are a day late in returning the DVD's. They have a clear policy on lost DVD's, which in short says it's not the customers fault unless this happens often - in other words it's Royal Mail's fault. Yet when it comes to closing your account, no it's not Royal Mail's fault for being slow and incompetent in taking weeks to return DVD's. That just contradicts itself.
So having paid my £12.99, I have now turned around and said under distance selling regulations I don't want their goods anymore, which I believe I'm entitled to do within 7 days of purchase. So I closed the account and requested a full refund that way.
I'm still waiting for them to answer some pretty basic questions - so far I have been offered !!!!!!, and a 2 month free trial. My response? Why would I want a free trial, just so you can then take more money off me after, which is the exact issue I've been having so far!!!0 -
Just want to say that I cancelled my free trial with no hassle and no charges.0
