Yes that is a good point - hadn't thought of that.

Just tried to phone again and got some bloke with a heavy foreign accent who clearly had no clue what I was trying to complain about. After trying for ten minutes to give him my username (couldn't get it) then trying with the email address instead (didn't get that either) I finally gave up in disgust.

I have an underscore in my email address and you have NO IDEA how hard it was to try and explain this to him. I could feel my blood pressure rising and my face flushing so in the end I just told him that I would have to pursue the complaint some other time and hung up.

WHY do I end up feeling I've done something wrong here?? I've wanted to read this book for so long but after all this grief I've kind of fallen out of love with the whole idea.

Unfortunately no-one on any of the bookswap sites has this book as I tried them before ordering on Amazon.

When is "charge when shipped" coming in for all marketplace sellers (when the card isn't charged until the seller hits the button to say they have posted the item)?

Why don't you just register another Amazon ID with different email address?

It came in a long time ago as far as I am aware. We were one of the first sellers that trialled it on .co.uk, that was probably around 12 months ago if not longer!

In response to some of the OP's comments, the seller could not just send you an item if they cannot access their Amazon account. You could have been anyone so they cannot just rely on you giving them an address to send to.

Also if the delivery window was up to 30th then you will not be able to make any claim until after this date. As it is automated, the options should simply be available the next day. Amazon don't just "turn them on".

Not that easy, IP addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, cookies on the machine etc. are all recognised.

In fact, even setting a brand new account with all brand new details would probably just get blocked as it is "related to another account". You are only allowed one Amazon account, end of. Having said that, you could always open a new account as FBA only but do it via Amazon then all is above board and you will then have 2 :)

Actually, did you mean open a new account for buying only? This is possible, it is only seller accounts where you are only allowed one.

Actually buyers can get feedback although most sellers don't bother. However I do see your worry here and it is something that has always worried me on Amazon as a seller myself- we are only allowed one account so we have to buy and sell on the same one.

True, feedback can be left on buyers but as you say noone actually uses it and many don't even know it is possible.

You are only restricted to 2 seller accounts, you can have as many buying accounts on top of a selling account from the same IP, office etc. as you like. Not sure why you had an issue with that, have you tried opening a seperate buying account as should be fine. I have a few.

    Doctor on Everest

There are actually two books of this name, the one I want is the Kenneth Kamler one - I have the one by Peter Steele which actually refers to a much earlier 1970s expedition.

As the seller has now removed the other books they have for sale prior to 30th September, I have assumed that they got back into their account before the delivery window expired.

However, this same seller seller sent me an emails saying "I don't think I will be using them [Amazon] again" and also said that she was "blocking my emails" so it hardly sounds likely she would send the book even if she could get into her account does it?

It is now 3rd October. It is a normal working day. The options for making an A-Z claim are still greyed out.
