1&1 email, anyone having problems!?

I thought it had more or less cleared overnight, though I still found one or two old mails coming through.

But for the last hour or so the POP servers have more or less stopped responding completely.

Looks as though I can still use the SMTP servers to send emails but not receiving any incoming.

Having spoken to 1&1's hopeless support team over the phone several times, I have been told for the last 3 days that the mail server has been encountering problems and they do not have an estimated time for completion. However, I was told to "rest assured that the problems will be dealt with ASAP." Great.
Each time I have phoned, I have asked that a formal notice be put onto their website about this problem to help other users - but they just don't - a ploy to get customers calling their 0870 numbers?

So, the bottom line is we have to wait and see what happens. By all means, call their support line and complain bitterly, but you may just waste your time.

I suggest each one of you write complaint e-mails to their customer support team detailing how unacceptable this is. Personally, I rely on emails for business and cannot have 3 days without them.

I've also been having problems with a website I have hosted with them. Phoning or emailing support is absolutely a waste of time, so I'm transferring to another host as we speak.

I seem to be ok now :j just hope I haven't spoken to soon (like last time!) You don't realise how much you rely on email until its taken away from you :eek:

Mine still isn't working. When it did work a couple of days ago I had one e-mail which was sent to me on the 8th Jan. It would appear that this problem has been around for some time.

My son is trying to run his business with 1 & 1 for his web site and e-mail !!!!

I'm reluctant to transfer to another host, as I left my previous one because this kind of thing happened regularly. This is the first time it's happened with 1&1 but it's taking just too long.
