            I'd love to see you argue that one with the tv license mob.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Could you point to the legislation which makes provision for this please?0 -

That is so wrong. :money:
I hope nobody takes your advice.
A UK TV licence is required to watch or record live UK TV (BBC or ITV or SKY or whatever).
This does mean you don't need a TV licence to watch iPlayer (and suchlike), or watch a copy of a programme that your mate recorded for you, or watch a DVD, or own a TV, etc.0 -
            Taken from BBC webpage: "The BBC is constitutionally established by a Royal Charter. An accompanying Agreement recognises its editorial independence and sets out its public obligations in detail." In my honest opinion, the BBC currently, is not fulfilling editorial independence. Why should I pay the full licence fee?
Last night in Greece many people were battered by the police, the people were protesting, not being violent. I expect the BBC to report on such important issues.0 -

Out of curiosity do the other channels news service show these? If so watch them and boycott the beeb. Does not affect your need to pay the license fee though unless you watch on catchup.pinkichiban wrote: »Taken from BBC webpage: "The BBC is constitutionally established by a Royal Charter. The reporting has been very poor globally. It can be viewed through live stream.0

            If you're after "proper" news i would suggest watching these channels;
http://www.presstv.ir/
http://english.aljazeera.net/
http://rt.com/
These amongst others broadcast proper news from around the world.
Not like our dumbed down news channels which are literally not worth watching, i mean, who wants to know which so called "celebrity" is in the sack with whoever cause that's all you get off our news channels.
The above channels are all on Sky and you will literally learn more about your own country than watching your own country's news. They do not have a politically biased opinion, they report facts.0 -
            It's all over the news now isn't it?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

            Radio reporter spent 20 mins asking one (intelligent) protester for one thing she would like changed, did not get a straight answer. Wanted a concensus where everybody had an input to decisions. Imagine this applying to government, nothing (even less than now) would ever get done.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
