Cheers, will have a mooch if I have the time and energy after being poked at ARi...
Beware of that place, it's illegal I believe to sell things without English translation labelling on so they may not be fit for consumption  if they avoid that legality you have to think what else they may be avoiding!
lol. That is not the case in my local Asian SUPER MARKET. the fresh produce eg spinich/ corriander has the asian names. so if you dont know what you are looking for best to get the translation.
I don't like the fruit and veg from my local as I feel it does not stay fresh as long as the tesco ones- our local has 3 cues for a £1 but I still prefer to buy the 80p one from tesco. Fruit Punnets are the worst as half of them can be off within a day or two.
For all dried bagged items lookout for the leaflets as sometimes they have them on offer eg lentils can be down to £1/KG!!
They Also have offers like the Big 4 doing the Ramadan specials.sealed pot chellenger no992Total for 2011= £198

In addition to English other languages may be included on the label. It is illegal to sell food with a label that does not include an English translation.

I think this only applies to pre-packedNeed2bthrifty wrote: »The only thing I couldn't get was dried fenugreek leaves, it was only when I got home and searched on T'Internet that I realised I should have been looking for "Menthi", cause the guy serving me didn't know what I was looking for, my fault not his.
This I assume would have been out with the corriander and other herbs - so no packaging.sealed pot chellenger no992Total for 2011= £198

Forgot to mention I also got a large bag of Fresh Curry Leaves, think it was about 80p, so I'm drying them off at present to keep me going throughout the winter months.

Fresh curry leaves are better frozen on the twigs - pop em in a plastic box, freeze & when you want some just strip off a few to fry. Also green/red chillies if wanted in cooking - freeze whole, grab a couple when wanted & slice frozen & bung in
Kasuri (Qasoori) Methi is the fella to look for for dried fenugreek leaves!0 -
We have a great Chinese supermarket in Leeds. I've bought Thai pastes there for years now, the difference in price between them and the normal supermarket is incredible - in the Chinese supermarket it costs the same for a huge tub of red paste as it does for a tiny jar in the supermarket. There is nothing better in life than writing on the sole of your slipper with a biro.....0
