Marks&Spencer refund refuse

Options
I bought a coat last year in M&S and after 2 months wearing it came out the quality was poor. I asked for refund and they refused telling that this is normal condition for this material. I paid over £80 and I am really disappointed. My friend bought a shirt recently and was told that he can return if not good but he need to have the original box. He brought the shirt witht the box and was refused the refund because the lady at returns said he need to iron the shirt! Unbelievable! I will never buy clothes as M&S!

  • I dont like their attitude.

I bought some stuff online and desided to give it back at the store, to be told I cannot, then shoved it in their face when I called customer service.
They had to take it back.
Cant be asked to do it a few times because they have to by law refund their postage, customer service refunded mine.

I went to the currancy exchange the other day, was told they do not accept notes with staples to hold them, and was very rude. but then she continued to count. So after she finished counting I told her to give me 'em back, if they dont want my money then someone else can, moneyshop mached their price anyway.

Crap shop I'm surprised they aint closed down

you're surprised that they wouldn't take a note that was being held together with staples? a lot of places wouldn't accept that, not just m&s

OP, is there a consumer rights issue here somewhere that you would like help with?

If this is just a rant, then perhaps it should be on The Praise, Vent & Warnings Board.

Agree this should be a vent/warn thread.

I had a similar issue when I took back a top that the strap broke the first time I put it on. It had one tiny powder mark on it and they stated they required it was washed before I could return it.

I couldn't be bothered to argue so did and it wasn't until I got back into the shop that I realised it still had a powder mark on it. They refunded it with no issue that time so it appears they have a mix of staff who are either very strict or don't care about condition if its a fault refund.

I can't tell if the shirt was a change of mind refund or a fault refund? If it was the former they can require it to be in "unused condition with all packaging" I believe.
