Most cashback

I'm after the biggest cashback amount for a single fuel switch. . . and with no contract tie-in.

I don't care if it works out costing more per month, or long term. I just need the one that gives me the most cash up front.

Any idea which comparison site or provider this would be?

    Npower
Dual Fuel Switch to Go Save Tariff - New Customer £70.70
    Cashback

    Via TopCashback

But keep in mind cashback is never guaranteed, especially from NPower by the look of their feedback.

Why are you not worried about how long you'll be tied in for, or how much more you'll have to pay just to get your hands on the best cashback rate ? Seems crazy to me ;)

Cashback can takes months to be paid (if it is at all - certainly not guaranteed) so it is hardly money 'up front'.

essthree - I can only guess you're not worried about long term costs as you will be moving home soon? Bear in mind that it can take up to about 8 weeks to complete a switch, and getting cashback may well require you to still be with the same supplier some time after that.
  • It's not because of me moving soon. I get the cash back; someone else pays the bill. I know it's not paid until a while after. I switched to the supplier I'm with a year ago. . . The deals were much better back then.

There is a chance I might move in February, so that's why I want no tie-in. If it wasn't for that possibility, then I wouldn't mine signing up for a year. But if I don't move, I wouldn't necessarily switch again.

Thats for a dual fuel switch, the OP wanted single fuel..
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

    My bad :o

Single Fuel Switch to Go Save Tariff - New Customer £35.35

    Still through Npower & TopCashback

But as the OP isn't worried about costs, might I suggest having the property connected to mains gas to maximise the cashback ;)

I just got my £20 cashback back from switching leccy to nPower, no gas. That was one of the better deals earlier this year and was also the cheapest supplier.

Perhaps balance CB against cheapness as CB is nice to have but takes an age to come through with strings attached.

CB is not what it used to be years ago, just like stoozing ;)

This. I remember getting £100 once for changing dual fuel thru Quidco. God that seems so long ago! lol

I got £50.50 last October for switching to where I am now. . . that was through quidco

I'm not sure about that topcashback site. Is it a good site? Any hidden charges? All above boards?

So are you advising the bill payer to change suppliers while giving them bad information? Having them move to a supplier whose bills might not be the cheapest just because you get the cashback? Sound immoral to me.

I don't have to advise the bill payer as I'm the account holder.

Can anyone really work out who is actually cheapest? If it was that easy we'd all be with the cheapest. They don't ask for/give the same information so you can't compare easily.

It's likely to be cheaper than if we stick, so I'll be saving them money. How can saving them money be immoral? Especially when, I'm under no obligation to do so, and most people in my position wouldn't bother.

The comparison sites can work it out. I use uSwitch but there are others.

Well no, it's not *likely* to be cheaper. It's *possible* that it will cheaper but the likelihood is not certain. I've just put my details in uSwitch and it says that I can't save by moving. I'm on EDF saver7 and got a rather decent cashback last time but it's not time to move again just yet.
