Same here. Ebay is one of my hobbies and very good for clearing out the clutter! I could either donate my stuff to a charity shop and receive nothing but if I sell them, at least I'll get a little money and the experience of selling from the comforts of my own home.
that doesn't mean I'm not into charity as I've donated plenty of other good, useable items in the past and I'm into freecycling. However I am quite disillusioned that some charity shops actually throw away a lot of donated items or staff cherry picking the best stuff for themselves and leaving the tat on the shelves. At least with ebay I know the things are going to a good home :cool:0 -

The oh bought a jumper last night for 50p and £1 p&p after fee's and postage she will only get bought 40p why do people do it?
I though Ebay was for people to recycle and get some money from things that they no longer need, but have life left in them.
Not for people trying to run a business at a major profit.
I personally would not buy something from Ebay which I could purchase at more of less the same price elsewhere on the internet, probably with a discount code and also have the confidence that the item could be returned etc if need be.
Just my opinion not meant to offend anyone. xx:wave: Fit Likeee!:j0 -

Freecycle is the site for recycled goods, ebay is a site to make money and many people actually make their full time living on ebay. However, the rest are just ordinary people like me making a bit extra to pay for holidays and nice things and trying to stretch our money a bit further.

Unfortunately with the large increases in post and parcel fees,it would be wise to find a cheap middle man courier like the ones on Ebay that will arrange for DHL,Parcelforce etc to collect even as low as £1.99 for secure
packet and from £3.99 for up to 30kg.(Well Selective was doing it before Christmas)
At least then you maybe able to make a little on the postage and packaging.
I think some people are still using the post office for their parcels and spending
around £12+ unsecured and untrackable to send them. The PO queues are a joke.
Astonsmummy- Have you climbed K2 yet?0 -

I think its satisfying sticking stuff on and seeing it cleared out and posted off. I have a big blanket box and Ill photograph clutter and other unwanted things, throw them in the box and preseto, watch the box slowly empty as I shift it on ebay.
At times you can make literally pennies but at least you get an extra feedback rating

Selective 2007 have just stopped their £3.99 ebay deal. I booked one two days ago and went to book two more yesterday. I ended up doing it through their website for £5.25 which is still really good. Only complaint i have at the moment is that i haven't had confirmation for the last two so don't know when they will be picked up which is pretty bad if customer service is important to you.0

I'd rather sell something for 99p than have it just sat around as long as I make my costs back for postage and packing then that's great. I am not out to make money just get rid of stuff I no longer need. In most cases I get more than 99p though0
