PayPlan

I agree (and so did the guy from payplan), the phone budget of £40 is low! You could argue it and raise that amount up, but the banks own figures see it at £40 at the moment.
Ours is £30 BT + £20 for 2 PAYG mobiles + £21.99 for broadband = £71.99 p/m
Soon to be £9.99 broadband and doing the old 1 ring and hang up trick with the mobiles, hope to get ours down to £50 total p/m.

Payplan were very nice to me and helpfull. I was very ashamed of my debt and was glad they treated me well.
The downside was that they worked out my disposable income and every penny is going to pay of my debt. I admit I got only myself to blame and I am glad the debt is going down lower each month. 2011 i'll be free but it is a long tough journey.
With no disposible income I have became a recluse as I can't even afford to go out to family functions. I constantly make up excuses not to leave the house as I can't even afford a newspaper never mind attend a family members birthday party or wedding.
Since I done the interview and declared my expenditures alot of things have went up, including essentials electricity and particulary gas.
I don't know what to do now. (apart from freeze and starve):cool:0 -
Hi
I'd just thought i'd throw in my experiences of payplan in the hope of helping others.
I contacted Payplan in late July/early August to discuss the possibilities regarding my £26,000 debt. They were helpful on the phone and were very understanding. They deal with this day in day out so they know what to expect and never judge. I did as was asked - i gave them all my bank details, statements etc and we begun the process of a DMP on a payment of £475pcm meaning I'll be debtfree by 2010 (I sold my car to clear £4,200 of the debt at the start of the DMP).
The first couple of months were slow in order to get everything going and I've had a number of calls from creditors demanding to know whats happening even though payplan had made them aware. These are starting to calm down now so I feel as though we're getting there.
MBNA were superb. They responded to Payplan very quickly and reduced my interest rate to 3.5% from 28%ish. I wish the RBS AA Visa Card department would do the same!! Natwest have been good to, and we're in the process of re-financing my accounts with them. Payplan have agreed a payment plan with them to cover my outstanding graduate loan and student overdraft and we're in the final stages of getting all that sorted.
Payplan's online banking service is useful, and my money is withdrawn on the 28th of each month and normally reaches my creditors on around 5/6th.
I would highly recommend them - and they've certainly helped me. Any questions then give me a shout.

Belfast,
You need to give your case officer a call and explain the situation. The amount they take should still leave you with money to live on. Payplan is there to make your debt more managable - not leave you without a penny.
I'd give them a call, explain, and ask for some advice.0 -

You need to contact PayPlan and explain your circumstances. I'm sure they'll be able to adapt your plan so you've got enough money to cover your bills. Perhaps also increase your housekeeping budget so you can enjoy a night out every once in a while.First DMP payment (Payplan) February 2007

One of the problems is my car expenses, I took over a car from a family member who turned ill and I pay them the monthly payments for the car.
I need a good reliable car for my job. The case officer couldn't take the payment into account as it was not under my name. They bumped up the petrol allowance but that is nowhere near the monthly payment.
If I get rid of car I'll lose my job.
I will get in contact with them to see if they can help. cheers timmy:cool:0 -
Alemted, I'm glad you're feeling better after the call. We're just waiting for our paperwork too.
Our phone bills and internet came to £89 so he jiggled everthing about to make sure we would still have enough money for the phone bills and so that everything still looked in order for the creditors. Eg, you're allowed a haircut budget but my mum (hairdresser!) cuts my hair so I'd said zero to that - he added hair cuts to the budget to help cover the phone. He also increased our clothing budget.
Eupho, gross is the total amount and net is after deductions.First DMP payment (Payplan) February 2007

Why can't the car be signed over to you? Is it still on hire-purchase?
Definitely give PayPlan call, I hope they can sort it for you xFirst DMP payment (Payplan) February 2007
