  • I have received the cash back money on a number of laptops I bought. It is a pain to chase them and make sure the kit is suitable. But it does work. Just expect to wait more than the 56 days quoted. I hound them daily now for the trade-in money and the cash back money. so far I have had £440 pounds back. ( 4 x £100 + £10 towards my carriage costs)

Bottom line email them on help@hpcashback.com and help@tradeuptohp.com and advise them they are in breach of their T&C's and you are going to speak to trading standards. This generally works. If you hound them enough you will get your money.

But I must agree the current promotion is a bit steep. On the HP 625 laptops I bought I was eligible for £100 trade in (must be sent within 30day of purchase) - each trade-in checked and validated - once validated you then wait 56 days for the money so realistically 70 - 80 days. On the cash back - you need to WAIT 30 days and claim before 60 days has gone by. so if you are prompt you may see you money after a total of 90 - 100 days from buying the laptop. If you miss the window then you have had it. I always put a link in my Outlook Calendar to remind my to send the claim forms in and another after 56 days to start chasing them.

You do get it but keep chasing them as if you don't they will end up keeping the money.......

    Cheers guys
  • This HP Trade-Up deal is still running - cash back from HP and a trade-up as well for £150. But, the offer originally said over 2 YO would qualify for £150.... but the offer changed on 15-3-12 - Now the laptop has to be under 5 YO. Me and some M8s want the old terms but HP will not honour it. Does anyone have a copy of the claim form from before 15-3-12 for the £150 trade up on the old terms ? ?

Really tempted by this offer. Not a buisiness user and they specify you have to send a copy of your invoice, not an order confirmation etc. Anyone got any experience of this?
From memory if paying up front I don't usually get an invoice ... but could be muddled.
Just kicking myself that I didn't do this sooner when the 4530 i3 I wanted was still in stock (and could get chashback) :(
