EDIT: Maybe this, then get the £150 trade in: http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/HP_ProBook_4530s_1099520.html
IF you have a good trade-in the ebuyer (unfortunately) is still better
as its 319 - 150 possible ie. 170 (if you are a small biz, or can do it via a small biz)
anyplace better? i just missed the mega 250 off the ebuyer price ie. (69)0 -
Thanks Rich, think I'll try for an i3...0

The one I linked to is £300?0 -
Looks like saveonlaptops is out of stock now, so it might have to be ebuyer anyway...
Do you reckon ebuyer have agreed with HP to retain a portion of the cashback and charge a lower price at point of sale? I know nothing about how the manufacturer/reseller relationship works...0 -
there was a lot of chat about this weird ebuyer cashback situation over on hot uk deals...wonder if it'll get sorted.
I'm still looking at trading in my (only) 2 year old HP laptop for this, as it seems like a decent deal.... shame I sold my 6 year old Dell laptop for scrap; wonder if they'd have given me £150 for it0 -
Hi has anyone on here actually gone through with this deal and got paid for their machine?
And if so, did you get paid in full?
Looks like the tradeuptohp.com/business offer is still on, you can get £150 for any working pc with mouse and keyboard, monitor not required.
First you have to buy your HP laptop, send in your old machine, then wait up to 60 days. You have to send it to a third party, namelyDataserv, Hawthorne Road, Staines, Middlesex, TW18 3BP dataservuk.comnebusiness.co.uk/business-news/latest-business-news/2011/02/21/gateshead-based-opia-sees-turnover-rocket-51140-28196524/
A COMPANY that takes on the financial risk of big manufacturers who offer money-back guarantees on their products saw its turnover rocket from £1m to nearly £6m last year.
Gateshead-based Opia was launched in 2006 as part of Newcastle marketing agency Mobious to work with manufacturers and retailers to offset the risk of promotions, such as money-back guarantees and lifetime guarantees.
The company has since set out on its own after tapping into a lucrative market, with large manufacturers keen to reduce the amount of financial risk they face in the economic downturn. There are several ways that the firm can mitigate risk, including promising to pay a percentage of the cost incurred when consumers return their goods or do not agree with the claims made by the manufacturer.0 -
Hi still wondering, has anyone actually successfully done this offer?
The Dataserv company's website was last updated in 2007 and the contact form there does not work. Not sure how with it they can be. The site looks pre year 2000 in design.
Tradeuptohp.com is not HP. If you check the WHOIS of the domain name tradeuptohp.com, for example at whois.net, it is registered to a private individual in Gateshead who gives a contact email at opia.co.uk
This is how Opia describe themselves on the front page of Opia.co.ukWhat do you need?
To deliver amazing promotions that drive awareness, trial and purchase.
But what if...?
Pushing that promotional envelope accelerated consumer responses way beyond expectation; as promotions like this are often accompanied by the large financial risk of over redemption of rewards or prizes...stretching budgets.
The solution...
Over redemption stifles creativity, that's where Opia can help.
Opia allow your creativity to flow, by engaging us to underwrite your promotional concept as well as handle the tricky logistics of its delivery, you're safe in the knowledge that your risk is expertly understood, assessed and managed.
Opia work with Lloyds of London, taking away the over redemption risk scenario, with Opia by your side, the sky is the limit... we agree a maximum fixed cost for the promotion, but only charge for the redemptions as they take place.
If the response rate is lower than anticipated, your costs are much lower, but if the promotion is very successful, you can feel confident the maximum cost has been FIXED and Opia is responsible for the excess!
Opia Offers:- Creative concept development, design and execution
- Dedicated account management
- Great partnering relationships
- Legal compliance guidance
- Sourcing of promotional rewards
- Application validation, customer services and reward fulfilment
- Real time data capture, analysis, measurement and reporting

Still nobody on here saying they actually got paid on on this offer.
Found another thread on here where someone got promised the money but was having trouble actually getting it and may have never got paid - the thread is titled
Exchange scheme (TradeUptoHP) avoiding payment
Sorry as a new user I can't post that link to this forum as a link! Maybe some else could post the link for me? It's thread number 48611505
For info, the Dataserv company sell used kit on Ebay under the id lowcostcomputer-uk
this is what their page on there says:Dataserv are sellers of refurbished IT equipment, including Laptops, TFT Monitors, Base Units, PC's, Mac's, Printers, Projectors, PDA's. We sell all major brands, including IBM, Dell, Compaq, Fujitsu Siemens, Toshiba, Acer, HP, Apple. All items come with a 7 day warranty and aftersales support.0 -
Hi, that was me. They were ridiculously difficult about paying for many moons, but I ultimately got paid in full, I think around 6 months after the initial purchase.0
-
I'm still waiting for mine, but it's only (I say only compared to other people) for 3 months.
Searching on Google, I think I might be lucky to see my cashback dough!0
