Facebook changes - a feature too far?

The latest round of changes at Facebook seem to have some users jumping up and down (given that it's free to join and free to use it does make me laugh when the complain about it).
Are the new changes a feature too far? Have they lost sight of what the end users want? Are they too concerned with how to make that monster of a site earn money? Is it to compete with the forthcoming Google social media service?
Perhaps the fix is to get out more, get a life, and leave Facebook alone?

Facebook regularly has overhauls, and every time people start to cry and moan about them. If they were that bothered they would stop using it, but I doubt that will happen. Give it a week and they'll no doubt forget all about the previous version.0

What's a 'Facebook'?There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0

If people never complained about free services like facebook the developers (who rely on the userbase to make money) would never get any feedback about how to keep the userbase happy and keep making money.
Perhaps it is a sign that is has become an institution when people start to evangelise about not using it?If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -
It always happens, a free web service always turns a bit poo when it gets big, hotmail, google, myspace, wikipedia, discogs...0

I haven't got it yet so don't know what all the fuss is about.
I'm taking it as a compliment that I am not worthy of it - a reflection of my facebook usage no doubt.0 -
