Problems with Virgin beware
To cut a long story short I have had an on going battle with Virgin and lack of customer services with me having to be on the phone for nearly 10 hrs in total waiting for help. Promises of ring backs never happened etc.
I finaly got a differant hand set a Galaxy Ace. Only now to be told that there is a major fault, you can't send text messages if your internet is conected on the new andriod operating system. This has no time period for a fix so buyer beware if ordering this phone.

I'm confused by the posts, if the handset won't send texts when on the internet, that is a software/hardware issue not the network .0 -

My android handset sends texts no problem while connected to the internet on the O2 network so it's a network issue, not the handset

Coming from a technical background, my android and symbian handsets function as your do on 3, VM, O2, Voda T-Mobile and Orange. The handset is linked to the network via the SIM card, so if the handset is connected to a local wi-fi router , then it seems to me the hardware cannot multitask the two requests similtaneously

However, a TEXT is a network function, and unless configured incorrectly (no valid Message Centre number) then this issue can arise. I've certainly had no issues in sending/recieving texts when connected via WiFi or the Web via a data connection.0
