I usually use the short cycle, which takes about 30 mins. Must admit that the other programmes take a couple of hours, but I understand that most other dishwashers are the same. It is a ridiculous amount of time, the manufacturers should cut this down to 1 hour max!

The reason they take a long time to wash is because this is the most efficient way of cleaning. Lower temperature, less water for a longer time = more environmentally friendly, and also saves the user money.
  • Hi Almond

I would be interested in this dishwasher, but cannot find it on the MFI website. Is it on there or just in the store?

    Thanks for any help

Yes I see that, but surely the longer the cycle takes the more electricity it is using!!
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

The MFi website always seems to lack a lot of the appliances they offer, if you go instore and pick up a price booklet they normally have an appliance book too with pictures/descriptions, usually also helps to then work out what the official model number is rather than the MFI 'number', they can tell you this instore too. Even paying with vouchers it's best to check that the MFI price isn't horrendously over i.e. we bought a Bosch fridge prior to Christmas but checked how it compared, was about £30 over the cheapest online prices but vouchers made it worthwhile. Another appliance we looked at once was £150 more in MFI so didn't bother

Bosch or Miele or Siemens. Hotpoint arent reliable.

We have a Miele which had a cutlery tray at the top instead of a basket and thats a good feature. Washes really well -even casserole dishes

Can you still use Tesco clubcard vouchers in MFI?
Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!

yes I had £210 and the dishwasher was £223 wanted to charge me £15 to deliver but I told him the web site was £5 so matched that, I ordered a new
bath panel for £23 to make it up to the £250 (which I needed)
  • I have had my Bosch for 16 and a half years. It is very reliable only prob. was needed new cutlery basket last year and now wheels for lower basket have warped a bit - overall very good value... will def. replace with a new bosch .... looking for efficency and a quiet machine with option of a quick wash... top deal.

All this rubbish about how long the machine lasts! It all depends on type of water (hard or soft), and degree of use! A machine in a soft water area used once a week by a couple of pensioners will last forever compared with a family of 6 using it in hard water twice a day!

My independent repair man advised against Meile or Bosch due to expensive repair costs, and recommended an Indesit which could be replaced with brand new two or three times for the same cost as a Meile.
