what to do with memory card when selling phone?
OK i've sold my handset its a HTC Desire S.
I know how to factory reset, but what should i do with the micro SD card? Can i just delete all contents or do i have to leave all the folders in place and just delete contents of folders?
It hasn't really got anything personal on, but has lots of photo's so not sure whether i need to format card prior to handing over.

Why would you hand the sd card over? Just stick it in the new phone you get and give them the one that comes with if they want it.0

My new hanset will have a larger card in it and i wont get it for a while anyway.
I know how to erase and format it but wasnt sure whether the folders needed would be automatically replaced after format0 -

Keep it, but if you have sold the phone with it included just format it. After all it is only a mini storage card. Formatting just cleans it ready for new stuff to be stored.Truth always poses doubts & questions. I'd say if you bought the phone with the card, sell it with the card ensuring you remove any personal files. Some handsets have on card utilities that will be needed by the new owner so it would be unfair to leave them stranded. Just connect to your computer, select the membary card, and look at the files to delete.0

Always better to format. Just deleting files leaves traces and errors on the card.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0 -
You can still recover files with file recovery software. If you really have personal stuff on there then I would copy the files to your computer that you want to put back on. Format the card then copy a load of junk to it until you fill it (movies, mp3s etc). Then format again and then put the files they may need back on it.0
