As long as it has been over 15 working days you can start your claim now from RM. You will need proof of value of the item and your proof of postage. Standard postage is covered for up to £46 of loss with proof of value as long as item was covered standard mail.

Recorded is an appalling service, virtually nothing I ever send recorded gets signed for and I don't remember the last time I signed for a recorded delivery item that I have received.

my recorded delivery parcels usually get thrown outside the door or a card appears through the letterbox saying i wasn't in...when i was in.

I quite agree. I'm not sure about everyone else but I know I haven't got time to wait for parcels to arrive or fill in forms when they don't.

well buy on the high street then
always interesting how little time many people have
if you have time to wait on parcels then use only next or same day services
thankfully if you dont have time for the forms they are not compulsory

Admittedly, royal mail do compensate (as long as you have enough postal insurance) but if they didnt f**k up in the first place, it wouldn't be necessary. :o

Agreed. But, despite public perception, they don't actually screw it up that often. I suspect it's around the 0.1% mark [post that goes missing]. That's a pretty reasonable failure rate, actually. Nothing's perfect.

i do see what you are saying .
my postman i used to have was very good.but a few days ago i had a note through the door saying i wasnt in , when clearly i was in. i saw him up the road and asked him for my parcel and why he put the card through the door , he said he didnt have much time..so it seems that im not the only one who has little time....
